HAPPINESS WAS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE APPRECIATED AND ADORED. These past few months with each other had been the happiest Hayley Swan and Xander Hale had ever been. They were with each other if they weren't with their families or loved ones. As the junior year ended with summer approaching, Hayley decided to stay in Forks rather than see her mother, wanting to stay with Xander as much as possible.
When school started, she was pleased that most of her classes would be with Xander. Hayley was sure Alice had something to do with that, but she wasn't complaining. Having Xander in her classes was a welcome distraction from whatever boring subject they were learning that day.
Speaking of the day.
The next day was her and Bella's eighteenth birthday.
Her twin panicked over the concept of getting old, which she understood. Edward would stay the same, while Bella would continue growing older. That was something she, too, feared, but she knew Xander didn't like discussing her turning. So instead, she chose to look at the bright side. It was her birthday, she was dating a cute guy whom she loved, and Alice was planning a party.
