LIGHTS FLASHED ACROSS THE CEILING OF THE GYM WHILE MUSIC BLASTED FROM EVERY SPEAKER. Bodies moved and bounced to the music, and the laughs and joyful yells echoed throughout the dance. The Sadies Hawkins Dance was in full swing, and Hayley wanted nothing more than to turn around and walk right out the door. Jessica was already there, her emerald green dress clinging to her form and her smile wide as soon as she caught sight of Hayley walking into the gym.
Gavin was there as well, surrounded by his football buddies, but he sent her a wave when he saw her. Hayley returned the gesture, but her smile was forced. This is the last place she wanted to be. Even though she loved the pink satin dress and loved to dress up like a princess, with everything going on with Xander, this wasn't the best time.
Hayley sighed as she walked across the gym floor, dodging bodies and holding her purse close to her. Yep, she was really considering heading home now.
She arrived at Jessica's side with a tired expression on her face. "Hey," The Swan girl greeted with a slight smile. "How's the dance so far?"
