ALTHOUGH XANDER HATED MOVING, AND HE WAS EXTREMELY DEPRESSED, HE LOVED ROAD TRIPS WITH HIS FAMILY. He secretly enjoyed watching as Edward and Emmett raced down the road ━ both going speeds that were no doubt breaking the rules of the road - but he knew his brothers didn't care. Esme and Carlisle mostly kept to the back of the pack, while Rosalie and Alice would sometimes join in on the races. And Xander just cruised along for the ride, enjoying the wind against his body as his bike roared down the open road.
But the further he got away from Forks, all he could think about was Hayley. That sweet human he loved so much would forever haunt him. She was a phantom in his mind, popping up in his head and leaving a permanent mark on his brain that would never go away. The more he thought about it, the more he had to fight the urge to bash Edward's mind-reading skull in.
