Y/N sat alone in the lounge, staring blankly at the table as Taehyung's words replayed in their mind. I'm starting to feel something real. How had things changed so quickly? It was supposed to be fake, but now it was anything but. Their heart raced, unsure if they were excited, anxious, or both.
When Taehyung returned, his expression was strained. "That was my manager," he said, sliding back into his seat. "The press is blowing up after what happened earlier. It's all over the news."
Y/N's stomach dropped. "They're talking about us?"
Taehyung nodded, his jaw clenched. "Yeah. They're calling it 'the kiss that broke the internet.' My team is freaking out, trying to manage the fallout. We didn't expect this much attention so soon."
Y/N's mind raced. This was spiraling out of control faster than they could handle. "What do we do now? If they keep digging, they're going to figure out this was all staged.
Taehyung rubbed the back of his neck, thinking hard. "We stick to the story. We can't back out now. The only way to survive this is to keep going and make them believe we're serious."
Y/N frowned, their chest tightening. "But what if someone finds out the truth?"
Taehyung leaned forward, his eyes intense. "They won't. Not if we play our parts right."
Y/N nodded, but the unease remained. They weren't sure how much longer they could handle the pressure. The kiss had complicated everything, and now they weren't just worried about the media—they were worried about their own feelings.
The silence between them stretched, heavy with unspoken thoughts. Finally, Y/N broke it. "Taehyung... are you sure this is a good idea? We're pretending to be in love for the cameras, but what happens when this is all over?"
Taehyung's expression softened. "I don't know. But right now, I'm not thinking about the end. I'm thinking about you."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat, but they forced themselves to stay rational. "This is going to get messy."
"I know," he admitted. "But I'm willing to take that risk. Are you?"
Y/N stared at him, torn between the safety of sticking to the plan and the danger of letting things get real. But the way Taehyung looked at them, with such sincerity in his eyes, made it hard to think straight.
Before they could respond, Taehyung's phone buzzed again. He glanced at it and sighed. "It's my manager. There's a meeting tomorrow morning. They want us to address the rumors publicly."
Y/N's eyes widened. "Publicly? Like, in an interview?"
Taehyung nodded. "Yeah. They think it's the best way to control the narrative."
Y/N's pulse quickened. An interview would mean more pressure, more eyes on them, and more chances to slip up. But they had no choice. The show had to go on.
As they stood up to leave, Taehyung gently grabbed Y/N's hand, stopping them in their tracks. "No matter what happens tomorrow, just know I'm here for you. This is a lot to handle, but we'll get through it together."
Y/N met his gaze, feeling a strange mix of fear and comfort. They nodded, squeezing his hand before letting go. "Okay. Together."
But as they walked back to their rooms, Y/N couldn't help but wonder how much longer they could keep up the act—especially now that their emotions were getting tangled in the web they had spun.
The next morning's interview would either solidify their fake relationship in the eyes of the public or expose everything. And Y/N had no idea which outcome scared them more.
