The morning came too quickly, with the weight of the upcoming interview hanging over Y/N like a storm cloud. They hadn't slept well, tossing and turning with nerves. This was their first public appearance with Taehyung since the kiss, and the world was watching closely. Too closely. As they entered the studio together, hand in hand, the cameras immediately flashed, reporters buzzing with excitement. Y/N glanced at Taehyung, who squeezed their hand reassuringly. His calm presence was the only thing keeping them grounded.
The interview set was sleek, with soft lighting that gave the illusion of comfort. But the moment Y/N and Taehyung sat down on the plush chairs, the tension in the air was palpable.
The interviewer, a well-known entertainment reporter, smiled warmly at them. "Taehyung-ssi, Y/N, thank you for joining us today. There's been a lot of buzz surrounding your relationship. I think the fans would love to hear from you two directly."
Taehyung smiled easily, his charm never faltering. "We're happy to be here. We want to clear things up for everyone."
The interviewer's gaze shifted to Y/N, and for a moment, Y/N's mind went blank. Taehyung, ever the professional, smoothly took over.
"Our relationship wasn't something we planned to make public," Taehyung said, glancing at Y/N, "but sometimes things happen unexpectedly."
Y/N nodded, trying to play along, though their heart was racing. The interviewer leaned forward, eyes twinkling with curiosity. "Can you tell us how your relationship started? The fans are dying to know!"
Taehyung smiled, a little too perfect. "It was gradual, really. We were friends first, and then things just... developed."
Y/N forced a smile, but inside, they felt the pressure building. Every word felt like a lie, and yet it had to sound real. The interviewer, sensing the tension, shifted the conversation.
"I have to ask about the kiss," she said, her voice light but probing. "Was that planned, or was it a spur-of-the-moment thing?"
Y/N's pulse quickened, and they cast a quick glance at Taehyung, unsure how to respond. But before they could say anything, Taehyung took a deep breath.
"It wasn't planned," he admitted, his voice calm but sincere. "It just... happened. I think in that moment, we both realized something we hadn't been ready to face."
The interviewer raised an eyebrow. "And what was that?"
Taehyung paused for a moment, his eyes flickering toward Y/N before he turned back to the interviewer. "That maybe this isn't just a show for the cameras anymore. Maybe it's real."
Y/N's breath hitched at his words, their heart pounding. Was he saying that for the audience, or did he mean it? They couldn't tell anymore.
The interviewer smiled, clearly pleased with the scoop. "That's a big revelation. How are you both handling the attention?"
Y/N swallowed hard, feeling the pressure to speak. "It's been overwhelming," they admitted. "But we're taking it one day at a time."
The rest of the interview passed in a blur, with questions about their daily lives, how they balanced work and their relationship, and what the future held for them. By the time it ended, Y/N felt like they had run a marathon, emotionally drained from trying to keep up the charade.
As they left the studio, Taehyung guided Y/N to a quiet corner, away from the cameras and prying eyes. "You did great," he said softly, his hand resting on their shoulder.
Y/N gave a weak smile. "Thanks. But I don't know how much longer I can do this, Taehyung."
Taehyung's expression softened. "I know it's hard. But we're in this together, remember?"
Y/N sighed, leaning against the wall. "Yeah, but... what you said in there, about it feeling real... did you mean that?"
Taehyung looked down, hesitating for just a moment before nodding. "I did. I wasn't just saying it for the cameras. I meant every word."
Y/N's heart pounded, emotions swirling inside them. "But Taehyung, this was supposed to be fake. If we cross that line, there's no going back."
"I know," he said quietly, his gaze intense. "But I don't think I can keep pretending when it's not fake for me anymore."
Y/N stared at him, torn between the fear of what was happening and the undeniable pull they felt toward him. Before they could respond, Taehyung's phone buzzed again. His face tightened as he glanced at the screen.
"It's my manager," he said, looking frustrated. "There's another crisis. We need to go."
Y/N nodded, feeling the weight of his words still heavy in the air. As they walked to the car, Y/N couldn't shake the feeling that everything was spiraling out of control.
The lines were blurring, and Y/N was no longer sure where the act ended and the truth began.
To be continued...
