The following days were a whirlwind. The media frenzy hadn't slowed down; in fact, it seemed to have only intensified. Reporters wanted every detail, and fans were divided—some were thrilled for Taehyung's happiness, while others took every opportunity to scrutinize Y/N.
Y/N tried to ignore the negativity, but it wasn't easy. Every time they stepped outside, cameras seemed to appear out of nowhere. Even simple tasks like grocery shopping or meeting friends felt overwhelming, knowing eyes were on them, watching and judging.
Taehyung noticed the toll it was taking on them. "Maybe we need to get away for a bit," he suggested one evening. They were sitting on the balcony, the city lights twinkling below, but Y/N's gaze was distant, lost in thought.
"Get away?" Y/N asked, surprised.
"Yeah. Somewhere quiet. Just us." He reached over, taking their hand in his. "We can take a break from all this... pressure."
The idea of escaping, even for a few days, sounded like a dream. Y/N nodded slowly, a hint of excitement sparking in their eyes. "Where would we go?"
Taehyung's face lit up. "I know a place. It's by the coast, away from the city. I used to go there when I needed to clear my head."
Within days, they were on their way, leaving behind the noise of the city and the prying eyes of the media. The drive was peaceful, and as they neared the coast, the air became fresher, carrying a hint of salt. The small seaside town welcomed them with open arms, and for the first time in weeks, Y/N felt a sense of peace wash over them.
Their temporary home was a cozy little cottage by the beach, with a breathtaking view of the ocean. As soon as they arrived, Y/N felt lighter, the weight of the city's pressure slowly lifting off their shoulders.
That evening, they strolled along the shore, their feet sinking into the sand with each step. The sun was setting, casting a warm golden glow over the water, and the only sound was the gentle crash of the waves.
"This feels like a dream," Y/N whispered, looking out at the vast, endless ocean.
Taehyung smiled, wrapping an arm around them. "It's real. Just us, here, with nothing to worry about."
They sat on the sand, watching the sun dip below the horizon. For the first time in weeks, Y/N felt truly at ease, without the world's gaze on them. Taehyung seemed more relaxed, too, and they spent hours talking, laughing, and simply enjoying each other's presence without distractions.
As the night deepened, they lay side by side on the sand, staring up at the stars. Taehyung turned to Y/N, his eyes reflecting the starlight. "Thank you," he whispered.
"For what?" Y/N asked, puzzled.
"For being here. For being you." His voice was soft but filled with sincerity. "This... all of this... it's worth it because I get to share it with you."
Y/N felt their heart swell, and for a moment, the world felt perfectly in place. They leaned closer, resting their head on Taehyung's shoulder, letting the silence speak for them.
But as they drifted into the comfort of the night, a small, nagging thought crept into Y/N's mind. How long could this peace really last? They had found an escape for now, but reality was waiting, just beyond the waves.
And as much as they wanted to believe in this quiet bubble, a part of them knew—this calm might only be temporary.
