The morning came with another round of media chaos. Y/N sat by the window, scrolling through the latest headlines on their phone. Every article seemed to twist the story further, each headline more sensationalized than the last. They had expected backlash, but seeing it plastered everywhere felt like a punch to the gut.
Taehyung entered the room, coffee in hand, his expression weary. "They're relentless, aren't they?" he muttered, glancing at Y/N's phone screen.
Y/N looked up, giving him a small, sad smile. "They won't stop until they have something that sells."
Before Taehyung could respond, his phone buzzed. It was his manager, asking him to meet at the agency for an urgent discussion. Taehyung squeezed Y/N's hand. "Stay here. I'll go see what he wants, and hopefully, we can find a way to shut this down."
As he left, Y/N felt a pang of loneliness, the weight of the situation settling on them. They knew Taehyung was fighting to protect his career—and their relationship—but the thought of him facing this all alone was painful.
Hours passed, each one dragging slower than the last. Finally, Y/N's phone lit up with a message from Taehyung: "Coming home soon. There's something I need to tell you."
Y/N's heart raced as they tried to interpret what this could mean. They had seen enough dramatic twists to know that a message like this rarely meant something good.
When Taehyung walked through the door, he looked exhausted, but his gaze held a hint of determination. Y/N stood up, anxiously waiting for him to speak.
"There's... another problem," he said carefully, his voice low. "They're threatening to release... photos of us. Private photos. They're trying to twist it as more 'proof' that I was still involved with her."
Y/N's eyes widened, feeling the anger rise. "That's beyond low. How could anyone stoop that far?"
Taehyung sighed, running a hand through his hair. "They don't care about the truth—they just want a story."
Y/N took his hands in theirs, squeezing them tight. "We can't let them win. We can face this together, Tae. We don't have to give in."
He looked at them with a softness that held so much gratitude and love. "I don't know what I'd do without you," he whispered.
They sat together, planning their next move. They decided to release a joint statement, setting the record straight and standing firm in the truth of their relationship. The process was exhausting, but they knew it was their best shot at reclaiming control.
As they prepared to face the storm together, Taehyung looked at Y/N with a determined smile. "This might get worse before it gets better," he warned.
Y/N nodded, feeling their own strength rising. "Then let's make sure we're ready. We'll face every rumor, every lie. Together."
And with that, they braced themselves for whatever would come next.
To be continued...
