Signs from Across the Pond

In the darkened lair beneath the Waverly Sub Station, Alex Russo sat surrounded by dusty old scrolls and ancient wizarding tomes, her wand idly twirling in her fingers as her mind raced with thoughts of what Crumbs had told them. Magic was dying, not just in their world, but possibly across all magical realms. The weight of that revelation had shaken her more than she would ever admit to her brothers. Justin had buried himself in research as usual, and Max... well, Max was being Max. But Alex had a gut feeling that something bigger was on the horizon.

She leaned over a scroll, eyes scanning the faintly glowing text. It detailed an old prophecy, one of many that hinted at times of magical decline and the search for new realms. But as she read, her thoughts were distracted by a faint, almost inaudible murmur. At first, she thought it was just the ancient text whispering its secrets to her—something these enchanted writings occasionally did—but no, this was different. It was a ripple of gossip, a rumor traveling through the magical channels that connected witches and wizards around the world.

Alex stopped, listening intently. Through the magical currents, she could hear snippets of conversations. Something was happening far away, across the pond in England. She couldn't quite make out the specifics, but the tone was clear: it was big, and whatever it was, it was going to change everything.

"Hey!" Alex called out, turning to her brothers, who were seated nearby. "Something's going on in England. I just caught a whisper of it—something major."

Justin looked up from his stack of books, raising an eyebrow. "England? What are you talking about?"

"I don't know exactly," Alex admitted, her brow furrowing. "But it's connected to magic, and it feels... important. Like it could be the key to whatever's happening to us here."

Max, who had been distractedly leafing through a comic book that had somehow ended up in the magical archives, piped up. "Well, why don't we just go there and check it out? Sounds like an adventure to me!"

Alex smirked at Max's enthusiasm, but Justin frowned, clearly not as keen on the idea. "We can't just barge into another magical community without knowing what's going on, Alex. It could be dangerous, and we need more information before we do anything drastic."

But Alex was already on her feet, her wand twirling between her fingers as a mischievous glint appeared in her eyes. "Justin, the world's magic is dying. We don't have time to sit around and wait for information to magically fall into our laps. If something's happening in England, we need to be there. Now."

Justin hesitated, but he knew better than to argue with Alex when she had that look on her face. With a sigh, he stood up and nodded. "Fine. But we're leaving a note for Mom and Dad, so they don't think we've vanished into another dimension or something."

Max grinned, already excited. "Great! I'm ready for a British adventure!"

After a hasty note to their parents, the Russo siblings gathered in the center of the lair. Alex raised her wand, concentrating on the spell Crumbs had once taught them for long-distance travel between magical places. With a flick of her wrist and a murmur of ancient words, a shimmering portal opened before them, swirling with deep purples and blues.

"England, here we come," Alex said, stepping confidently through the portal, followed by Justin and Max.

Meanwhile, in England...

Back at 12 Grimmauld Place, Harry, Luna, Draco, and their newest addition, Neville Longbottom, were gathered around a large table cluttered with books, scrolls, and notes. Harry had been jotting down bullet points, meticulously gathering details about the planet Mirithis, the wild Earth-like world they had uncovered in the ancient texts.
