Malik Keita's POV
The air in Solaraith was rich and warm, carrying the scent of wild earth and ancient trees as Malik Keita stepped off the transport and onto the continent that would become the home of the African wizarding community. Solaraith's vast plains, towering mountains, and sacred groves hummed with untamed magic, and Malik felt a thrill of pride and responsibility as he looked out over the land.
Behind him, wizards and witches bearing the Ancestral Flame Core gathered, their eyes filled with wonder and purpose. The core had awakened within them the ancient magic of Totem Bearers, connecting each of them to the spirits of their ancestors and to the natural forces around them. Malik could already feel the powerful pull of the earth beneath him, the steady heartbeat of Solaraith welcoming them home.
"This land holds a memory older than time," Malik murmured, a quiet reverence in his voice. "It's our honor to nurture it and to build upon it with respect."
Creating the Heart of Solaraith
Malik turned to his advisors and the council members who had joined him, each chosen for their wisdom and strength. Together, they began discussing the central city they would build, which they would name Maji Kaari, or "Fires of Spirit," a tribute to their new powers as Totem Bearers.
"Maji Kaari will be the center of all we do," Malik began, pointing to a map they had unrolled on a stone slab. "Here, in the heart of Solaraith, near the river and the sacred groves, we will build our city. The High Shaman's Hall and the Totem Council Grounds will be situated here, surrounded by training grounds, the spirit shrines, and community spaces."
Dalia, one of the Spirit Elders, nodded, studying the layout. "The river will be essential for our people. It will provide not only water but a sacred space for spirit rituals. We should build spirit shrines along its banks, places where our people can commune with the spirits of our ancestors."
"Agreed," Malik replied, marking the river area on the map. "We'll establish smaller towns and villages around the main city, each connected to Maji Kaari by pathways and surrounded by protective wards. Each village will be dedicated to a specific craft or resource, ensuring that we remain self-sufficient and that our work honors the land."
Defining the Totem Bearer Hierarchy
Now that they had set their sights on where Maji Kaari would stand, Malik gathered the core members of his Totem Bearer Order to explain the new hierarchical structure they would follow as Totem Bearers, a hierarchy that honored their roles as guardians of tradition, protectors of their people, and guides to future generations.
"Our society will be led by the High Shaman, who will serve as the ultimate guide to our people's spiritual needs," Malik explained, standing at the center of the circle of his most trusted advisors. "Below the High Shaman, we have the Totem Chieftain, a role that I will fulfill to lead the people and our warriors."
The Spirit Elders, who would form the spiritual council, stood tall with pride as Malik continued. "The Spirit Elders will support me as the Totem Chieftain, offering wisdom and guidance in matters of tradition, magic, and leadership."
Kwame, one of the Totem Wardens, asked, "And the younger members? The initiates who are just discovering their powers?"
