The morning sun filtered through the dusty windows of 12 Grimmauld Place, casting long shadows across the floor as the two groups—Harry's crew and the Russos—sat scattered around the library. Books and scrolls lay open on the table, but there was a restless energy in the air. Alex Russo leaned back in her chair, absentmindedly tapping her wand against her knee, a sign of her growing impatience.
"So, is this how you guys do things here? Sit around reading books all day?" Alex quipped, her eyebrow raised as she glanced at Harry.
Harry smirked, closing the book he had been studying. He could tell she wasn't one to sit still for long. "I figured you'd get bored eventually. We've done the research, but now we need to start preparing."
Alex perked up, tossing her wand from hand to hand. "Finally. So what's the plan? Or do you need me to come up with something exciting?"
Harry chuckled, then stood. "We're making a trip to Gringotts. I need to make some arrangements before we can move forward." He looked at the group. "All of you are coming with me."
Justin raised an eyebrow, clearly curious. "What exactly are you planning?"
"You'll see," Harry said, leaving the room. He quickly grabbed his cloak and beckoned the others to follow him as they all made their way out of Grimmauld Place and into Diagon Alley.
As they entered Gringotts, the wizarding bank, the familiar grandeur of the marble floors and towering ceilings greeted them. Goblins scurried about, conducting business with the efficiency they were known for. Harry approached the nearest teller, who eyed him with curiosity and respect—being the famous Harry Potter still had its perks.
"I need to see Lord Gingold," Harry said.
The goblin blinked, surprised by the request. "Lord Gingold is very busy, Mr. Potter. Is this about your vault?"
"It's something bigger than that," Harry replied calmly. "It's about the future of magic."
The teller hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Very well. Follow me."
Harry motioned for everyone to follow, and they were led through a series of winding hallways deeper into the bank. Eventually, they arrived at a grand door, behind which sat Lord Gingold, the Lord of the Goblins, who oversaw many of the larger decisions within Gringotts.
Gingold looked up as they entered, his sharp, beady eyes fixing on Harry with a calculating expression. "Mr. Potter. I've heard whispers of your... activities. What brings you here today?"
Harry stepped forward, feeling the weight of the moment. "Lord Gingold, I'm here because we have a problem. The world's magic is fading—dying, in fact. We've discovered a galaxy beyond our own, a place where magic still thrives, but we need resources to prepare for what may come."
The goblin leaned back in his chair, tapping his long fingers together thoughtfully. "You're proposing something monumental, Potter. If the world's magic is dying, it affects us all. What exactly do you want from Gringotts?"
"I need access to my vault," Harry said, his voice steady. "And I'll need six Gringotts cards, all tied to my account."
Gingold's eyes flickered with interest. "Six cards, you say? And who will these cards be for?"
Harry turned, gesturing to the group behind him. "These six are helping me prepare for what's coming. They'll need access to my resources."
Gingold glanced at Draco, Neville, Luna, Alex, Justin, and Max, his eyes narrowing for a moment as if weighing the wisdom of the request. Then he nodded slowly. "Very well. But Potter, you understand the gravity of this situation? You're making long-term plans—potentially relocating to another world."
