It had been a month since the Guardians' blessing, and the city of Starios was thriving. The shrines and statues dedicated to the Guardians were now key parts of the city, with people visiting daily to pay their respects. The mansions were nearing completion, and the various groups living on the continent of Eldoria were settling into their new lives. But with each passing day, new developments arose, and it was time for another meeting.

The leaders gathered once again in the meeting tent, the temporary center of their government while the main structures were still being built. Harry, Luna, Neville, Draco, Isabell, and the other leaders were seated around a large, enchanted table, their faces filled with the quiet determination that had marked every gathering since their arrival in Mirithis.

Justin sat at his scribe's desk, quill poised over parchment, ready to document the proceedings as the meeting began.

Updates on the Continent

The meeting started with the usual discussions about the ongoing construction and development of Eldoria. Neville reported on the progress of the agricultural systems, ensuring that magical plants were being grown in balance with the local ecosystem. Draco gave updates on the wards and defenses that were being set up around the city, while Isabell spoke about the continued integration of various cultures across the continent.

"The city is growing rapidly," Harry said as he looked over the latest plans for Starios. "But we need to make sure we're still thinking about the long-term. We have to protect the balance of this world, just like the Guardians told us."

Luna nodded thoughtfully, her gaze distant as she spoke. "I've been exploring more of the natural areas, and the magic in this world feels... alive. It's like the land itself is responding to us, adapting to our presence."

Neville added, "I've noticed it in the plants, too. Some of the species here are growing faster than they should. They're thriving in ways that I've never seen before, almost like they're feeding off the magic in the air."

The conversation moved forward with ease, each leader contributing updates about their respective responsibilities. It was clear that Eldoria was flourishing, and the excitement of building a new world was palpable among the group. But as the meeting began to wind down, Caelion, the leader of the Merpeople, shifted in his seat, clearly pondering something.

The Revelation of the Merpeople

Finally, Caelion cleared his throat, drawing the attention of the others. "There's something I need to tell you all," he began, his voice measured. "Something strange has happened to the Merpeople, and I believe it may be happening to the Sirens and Nymphs as well."

Harry sat up straighter, a curious look on his face. "What is it?"

Caelion glanced around the table at the other leaders before continuing. "It started a few weeks ago. The Merpeople began to feel something... different. It was subtle at first, but it grew stronger. There was a pull, a change in the magic around us. I decided to test something."

He paused for a moment, his eyes flicking to Cythra, the leader of the Sirens, who nodded for him to continue.

"I took off my medallion," Caelion said simply. "The one that allows us to maintain our human-like form on land. I expected to revert to my natural form, as I always have before. But... nothing happened. I remained in this form, even without the medallion."

Gasps echoed around the table, and even Draco, usually composed, looked genuinely surprised.

Harry's brow furrowed in thought. "You didn't change back?"

Caelion shook his head. "No. And it wasn't just me. The others in my community did the same, and the result was the same. We no longer need the medallions to stay in our human-like forms on land. And when we return to water, we change back as usual. But when we come out of the water... we automatically shift back to this form, without any help from the medallions."

The tent was silent for a moment as everyone processed this information.

Cythra spoke next. "The same thing happened with the Sirens. We felt the same change, and we no longer need our medallions to move between our forms."

"And the Nymphs," added Ondora, the leader of the Water Nymphs. "The Tree Nymphs and Mountain Nymphs felt it, too. We no longer need to stay tethered to our grounding points as we once did."

The Discussion

Harry was silent for a moment, considering the implications of what Caelion had revealed. Then, slowly, he spoke. "You said this started a few weeks ago, right?"

Caelion nodded. "That's right."

"And that feeling," Harry continued, "did it start after the Guardians gave their blessing?"

Caelion thought about it for a moment, and then his eyes widened. "Yes... it did. Almost immediately after, now that I think about it."

A murmur went through the room as the other leaders exchanged glances. Luna, her gaze thoughtful, said, "The magic of Mirithis is powerful, but it was the Guardians' blessing that truly connected us to this world. What if that blessing wasn't just symbolic? What if it changed the way magic interacts with certain beings—beings like the Merpeople, Sirens, and Nymphs who are so deeply connected to the elements?"

Neville, always quick to think of the natural world, chimed in. "It makes sense. The Guardians control the forces of nature in this world. Their blessing could have altered the way magic flows through those who are more in tune with those natural elements."

Draco, ever the pragmatist, frowned slightly. "If that's true, then what else has changed that we don't know about? If the Guardians' blessing is altering magic on such a deep level, we need to be prepared for other unexpected effects."

Harry nodded. "True. But so far, the changes seem... positive. It's like the Guardians have given the Merpeople, Sirens, and Nymphs more freedom. They're no longer tied to their enchanted items or specific elements in the same way. This world is allowing them to be more fluid, more adaptable."

Caelion leaned forward, his expression serious but grateful. "It's a gift, that much is clear. The Merpeople feel freer than we ever have. But we didn't want to hide this from you. We needed to understand what was happening, and now we think we know why."

What Comes Next

The group fell silent, each leader deep in thought. Finally, Harry spoke, his voice firm. "This changes things, but in a good way. If the Guardians are granting us these gifts, we need to embrace them. But we also need to be cautious and make sure we understand how these changes might affect other magical beings."

Isabell, always one for rituals and honoring the balance of magic, nodded. "We should continue to honor the Guardians in our ceremonies and shrines. Their blessing is more than just symbolic—it's shaping the very magic of this world."

Luna smiled softly. "We're more connected to this world than we ever imagined. And I think this is only the beginning."
