When Gorran and his kin set foot on Ironclad, a rugged, mountainous land brimming with veins of gleaming ore and immense stone formations, he felt the sheer strength of the continent resonate within him. The mountains were raw and powerful, and the valleys held mineral-rich soil. Ironclad wasn't just a home—it was a fortress, a testament to strength, endurance, and the resilience of the giants.
Gorran raised his massive arm, gesturing to the peaks around them, and let out a booming laugh. "We've found our home, kin! A land as tough and resilient as we are!"
Laying Out the Vision for Ironclad
Gorran and his advisors, each a towering giant with steely determination, moved through the land, examining the terrain to find the best location for their central city.
"High Chief Borlak," Gorran said, calling one of his trusted leaders over, "what do you think of the basin at the heart of the mountain range?"
Borlak scratched his chin thoughtfully. "That basin is protected on all sides by cliffs and ridges. If we build there, the city will be well-guarded, and we can oversee all of Ironclad from its heights."
Gorran nodded. "Then it's decided. Our central city shall rise there. We'll call it Stonehearth—a name that speaks to the strength and warmth of our people."
As they continued, Gorran pointed to nearby valleys and plateaus, directing his warriors and leaders to claim those spaces for smaller settlements and training grounds.
"We need villages for training, for mining, and for those who keep our land fertile. One for each role we hold sacred."
The Creation of Stonehearth
As the giants began their work on Stonehearth, the construction itself became a display of power and tradition. Huge blocks of stone were hewn from nearby cliffsides, and veins of precious metals embedded within the rocks shimmered as they built.
"Bring the iron to the foundries!" Gorran ordered, his voice carrying through the valley. "Let Stonehearth be as strong in its foundation as we are in spirit."
Each boulder, each stone, was a testament to the giants' strength. They didn't use magic to build—instead, they used their own power and the resources Ironclad offered them.
"Every piece of this city will be crafted by our hands," Gorran declared to his people as they worked. "We are bound to Ironclad through the sweat of our labor and the iron of our will."
Outlying Villages and the Spirit of Ironclad
Once Stonehearth was underway, Gorran gathered his warriors, guards, and council members to discuss the layout of the smaller settlements. They would need places to mine, areas for training, and locations where shamans and oracles could carry out their rituals and preserve their traditions.
"In the western valley," Gorran said, pointing to a map they had scratched out on a stone slab, "we'll build Ironhold, a fortress for our strongest warriors. There, they will train in the arts of defense and war."
High Chief Borlak nodded. "And in the cliffs north of Stonehearth, we could create Metalrun, a mining village. We'll harvest iron and precious stones to trade and to strengthen our own defenses."
"Excellent," Gorran agreed. "And along the river in the eastern plains, we shall build Deepvale, where our farmers and laborers can cultivate the land. We'll need strong hands there to keep us well-fed and prosperous."
