As the sun cast a warm glow over Mystvale, Neville and Luna returned from their exploration, both bursting with excitement over their discoveries. Neville's eyes sparkled as he spread his collection of carefully taken plant cuttings across the study table in Harry's office, while Luna flipped through her notebook, showing Harry her sketches of various creatures they had encountered.
"Harry, you wouldn't believe some of the flora here," Neville said, gently holding up a cutting of a vine with silvery leaves that shimmered faintly in the light. "This one—Luna called it Moonlace—only grows in deep forests. It seems to have natural healing properties just from touching it. I'm hoping to learn more about how it might work in potions."
Luna nodded, adding, "And the creatures, Harry! Some of them remind me of the creatures I'd talk about back home, but here, they're real. The magical balance on Mystvale is unlike anything I've seen. It feels as though everything here has its own place and purpose."
After discussing their findings, Neville's eyes drifted to the map spread out on Harry's desk. His gaze fell on a small, isolated island to the west of Mystvale. It was marked only by its outline, a lonely blip on the map with no name and no further notes.
"Harry, this island," Neville said thoughtfully, tracing his finger over it, "I think it might be perfect for setting up a place of my own—a botanical research station of sorts. Somewhere I can study these plants without disturbing the land here on Mystvale."
Harry considered this with a smile. "That's a brilliant idea, Neville. The space, the freedom—it could be the ideal spot for a research center. You'll have all the room you need for experimentations, and with everything you've learned already, it sounds like you could really use it."
With that, Neville quickly gathered supplies, charmed a few of his cuttings for transport, and set off for the island. As he sailed over the sparkling sea, he began to imagine what he could create there: a sanctuary for research, a place where he could explore all the mysteries of this new world's plant life without restriction.
When he reached the shore, he took his first steps onto the untamed island. The air was rich with the scents of unfamiliar vegetation, and birds with dazzling plumage flitted from tree to tree, curious about the new visitor.
The island was lush and green, with a variety of microclimates ranging from open meadows to shaded groves, and even a small patch of marshland toward the center. Exploring deeper, Neville quickly recognized its potential—a place where he could set up greenhouses, experiment with hybrids, and document every plant he encountered.
As the day progressed, he began constructing the essentials: several greenhouses of varying sizes, each built to house plants with different needs. He created some for rare flora, with carefully controlled atmospheres to mimic specific climates. A simple but sturdy house was set up nearby, stocked with essentials in case he needed to stay overnight during longer experiments.
Next, he built an open space for drying herbs and an outdoor station for observing local fauna. He even charmed a small grove where he could cross-pollinate plants without risk to surrounding ecosystems. With every step, he felt his connection to the island grow, as though it were welcoming him to become its caretaker.
By the time the sun began to set, Neville stood back to admire his work. The island was still mostly wild, but nestled within it was the start of a place he could dedicate to understanding Mystvale's rare and potent flora—a space where he could truly work his magic. He decides to name the island Neville's Experiment Plantation Island.
