A few of the Lost, inspired by Percy's words and feeling a newfound curiosity, set off the next morning for a pilgrimage to the Guardian temples scattered across Eldoria. The journey to each temple was as enchanting as the shrines themselves. Rolling hills, thick enchanted forests, and gleaming lakes unfolded around them as they traveled.
Their first stop was the Temple of Angelo, the Guardian of Serenity and Healing. The entrance to the temple was nestled within an ancient grove, its doors framed by vines and glowing flowers. As they entered, they were drawn into a warm, golden light emanating from the central chamber. In the room, the walls were lined with detailed carvings of Angelo, depicted as a graceful, deer-like creature with antlers that glowed like soft moonlight. Murals depicted scenes of Angelo healing the land, calming storms, and nurturing life.
One of the Lost, a witch named Felicity, felt an overwhelming calm as she walked into the chamber dedicated to Angelo. She moved closer to the wall, where an intricate carving of Angelo's face seemed to radiate a warmth that wrapped around her. Mesmerized, she reached out a hand to touch the stone, as if trying to absorb some of Angelo's peace and wisdom.
As they moved on to other temples, the Lost felt their fascination deepen. At Sunnighter's temple, with its ethereal light and shifting shadows, they marveled at the unicorn-thestral hybrid's power over light and darkness. The play of light inside the temple left them entranced, and each Lost seemed to feel an unexplainable connection to the Guardian's dual nature. By the time they reached Garmr's temple, with its grand, fortress-like structure and protective runes engraved along the walls, some of them were almost whispering to themselves in reverence.
When they finally returned to Staros that evening, many of them felt an unexpected sense of yearning, a need to keep the Guardians close even back in their rooms. As they passed through the city streets, they noticed shops with shelves filled with Guardian figurines, trinkets, and symbols. For each Guardian, there were small tokens—jewels for Angelo, shadow-laced crystals for Sunnighter, carved bone pendants for Garmr, delicate scorpion-jaguar charms for Camber, feathered charms for Aurelvra, and shells shaped like Nautilyth.
With a kind of feverish dedication, some of the Lost purchased as many items as they could carry, not wanting to miss a single item that might capture a piece of the Guardians' essence. Returning to their rooms at the Enchanted Haven, each of them began arranging a small altar or shrine on their bedside tables, their shelves, or even the tops of their dressers. They positioned the figurines with care, adding candles and scattering flowers as offerings.
Over the following days, they returned to these little shrines, lighting candles, whispering quiet thanks, and leaving fresh offerings.
