I took Haeun out for something to eat after the fan sign as a thank you, though there was definitely more squealing than eating on her part. She was still on cloud nine from meeting the guys, especially Nate. She was utterly beside herself that Nate had held her hand as he told her what a nice thing it was to do to invite me to the fan sign. Apparently, it was something she was never ever going to forget and I can't say I blamed her. I was genuinely happy that she had so many meaningful interactions with the guys today.
"So, we both had memorable experiences today with our men. My man held my hand and told me what a wonderful person I am and your man, or should I say men, both held your hand. It seems one of your men is slightly more besotted with you than the other though. I still can't get over the way Rian was looking at you. I've never seen him looking at anyone like that before. You must have bewitched him with whatever you wrote on that card. Was it some sort of spell or something? I'd kill to know what it was you wrote. Are you ever going to tell me, Lex?" Haeun pleaded, for the seven hundredth time since we left.
"Definitely not. Those messages were for the boys alone and I will take what I wrote on them to the grave" I joked as I drank from my glass of wine.
"Spoilsport" she grumbled. "So, I'm still full of adrenaline from today and I feel like going out clubbing to burn off some of this energy. What do you say we finish our meal then head out somewhere for cocktails before hitting the club?" she said, wiggling her eyebrows.
"I think that's a great idea Haeun. You definitely need to release some of that energy or I feel like you're going to explode. But I can't come with you. I made plans with..... that guy tonight, remember?" That guy being the same man she was just referring to, though she didn't know it.
"Oh shit, yeah I forgot. Why don't you invite him to join us at the club? I'd love to meet him. I promise I'll be on my best behaviour. I won't even mention your other two men" she said, winking at me.
I couldn't help but laugh. Imagine her face if I invited my mystery man and Ri turned up instead. "Absolutely not, Haeun. He's been working all day, so probably won't be up to being social and to be fair, I'm about to reach my limit too. And besides, he isn't my man. I told you, we're just seeing where it goes and taking it easy" I reminded her.
"I see. Keeping your options open in case a certain someone from today contacts you, are you?" she said, laughing at me. I just rolled my eyes in response. "So you're seriously not going to come partying with me tonight? You're going to ditch me for a man?" she pouted.
"I am going to ditch you to go home to my nice quiet apartment after being way too overstimulated all day, surrounded by hundreds of people. If he feels like joining me in my cave of tranquility, then he is more than welcome to. But I don't have it in me to be social for much longer. My social battery is almost out, Haeun. I really appreciate you inviting me today, it's been an amazing day and you're right, I will remember this day for a very very long time. And I'm going to have to find a way to make it up to you for today somehow. But I really can't face going out clubbing tonight, I'm sorry."
"Okay, okay. I'll let you off this once. I guess I did spring today on you, when you didn't know what to expect. You've done really well with everything today. But trust me, I get it about the social battery thing. Let's finish up here then I'll call you a cab and pack you off home to your antisocial cave to recover" she said, patting my arm lightly.
Forty five minutes later, I was in the cab and almost home when my phone rang. I thought it might be Haeun trying to convince me to come back to the club I had dropped her at recently, but instead it was Ri.
"Hello, is this my bias Dex?" I asked by way of greeting, smiling because I knew that would get a rise out of him.
"Your bias RIAN yes. Yes it is. And he wants to know what you're up to right now" he said, sounding slightly annoyed.
