In a matter of minutes, just like I had planned, the sports newspapers were full of Mason's transfer failing at the last moment.

We could even go home and rest for a bit during the afternoon, which was great. I took a short peaceful nap, while all the Everton fans were going crazy over the transfer failing even though everyone was saying it was closed an hour before.

At around 10pm, Niall, Rachel, Bill and I went back to the club's facilities, accompanied by some coworkers.

The last few hours of the transfer period are always so intense. Last-minute offers keep arriving until the very last minute.

Today, in addition, we have to organize the last step of our little plan. That step being, telling everyone we were able to close the transfer during these last couple of hours. I'm pretty sure we have been photographed entering the offices again, so that will make it seem even more real.

Niall, Bill, Rachel and I stayed in the reunions room the whole time, with one of the club's sports consultants, and our assistants.

"Aston Villa just sent an offer for Harry, can you believe that?" I chuckled, while looking through emails on my laptop.

"How high?" Niall asked, with a little smirk on his face.

"Fifteen million." I answered.

"It's not even that much." Bill pointed out.

"Right?" I agreed. "I'm just replying because I'm too nice to leave them with the doubt this whole hour. This way they can start looking for someone else." I said, and started typing a polite 'no' in my laptop.

Niall, who is sitting right in front of me, then looked at me, holding his laugh at my comment. I looked back at him, with a little, almost unnoticeable, smile on my face.

How does he always manage to make me so nervous just by looking at me?

Until 11:30pm, everything was pretty calm. We just rejected offers and laughed about them.

"We should start teasing everyone on social media a bit already." I smirked.

"Yeah." Rachel, who is sitting next to me, agreed, and entered Everton's social media accounts with her laptop. "What should we type?" She asked, with our Twitter account ready.

"erm." I thought for some seconds. "Can I?" I asked.

"Sure." She said, and placed her laptop closer to me, between the two of us.

I typed "the transfer period doesn't end until midnight..." and showed Rachel.

"Perfect." She said, with a little smirk on her face, and clicked 'post'.

Two minutes later, our little tweet was full of replies, with a lot of different theories. We read them all together, and had some laughs with it.

At midnight, we posted the final announcement. And just like I had imagined, everyone was surprised but excited about it. Most reactions to our work were positive, which was a relief.
