These past two weeks have passed by so fast. I'm going back to Spain for the holidays tomorrow.
We had the Christmas meal at the club today, which was pretty fun. I'm still amazed by how great the environment is here.
These past two weeks I've also got to know the women's team's players and managers a lot better, and watch them train a few times. I've told them about what we are planning, and they seem to be happy about it, which is great news. They have already told me how thankful they are that Niall and I are focusing on them too. They obviously also want to be promoted to the premier.
This afternoon, I'm seeing Niall again. It was going to be the last time we were going to see each other before the holidays, but he insisted on accompanying me to the airport tomorrow as well. I'm actually glad the goodbye is going to wait until tomorrow.
I'm leaving for a pretty short time, but I'm still going to miss everyone a little bit. Especially Niall and Rachel. Not seeing their faces every day is going to be kind of weird, even if it's just for two weeks.
I went to the street where Niall and I always meet, at the time we always do. A couple of minutes later, he arrived.
"Sorry." He chuckled when he saw I was already there.
"I've just waited for two minutes, that's nothing." I smiled, and hugged him. He hugged me back and kissed my cheek.
Even though it's December, and there's usually no sun, we both wear sunglasses when we are on the street together. We are still pretty prudent about not being recognized. We've had many long conversations about this.
We love each other's company, but we hate the idea of everyone making assumptions about our relationship on the internet. We've decided we want to keep everything private for some time, at least while we are still knowing each other, and figuring out what we have and want. Having people talking about it can only make it all harder for us.
We went to the cafeteria we go to most of the time, as it is pretty small and there's an alone table in a corner, where it is a lot harder for people to recognize us.
"I want to show you something." Niall said once we sat and ordered my coffee and his tea.
"I'm curious already." I smiled.
"Give me a minute." He said, and took his phone out of his pocket, and started searching in it. "My grandma sent this to me earlier, and I thought you probably had seen it when it happened." He explained.
He showed me his phone's screen, which showed him scoring a goal, at what looked like the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
"Good goal." I smiled. "That's Madrid, right?" I asked.
"It is, yeah. This happened six years ago last week. I'm showing it to you because I wondered if you remembered when I saw it again, as you are a Real Madrid fan." He explained.
