Monday arrived again. The second of the three last transfer period weeks starts.
Today marks exactly two weeks until September 2nd, the last day being September 1st.
The environment was a lot better around here after our first win. It was pretty noticeable everyone was happier, including myself.
We decided to focus on closing sales today. Last week we spent a lot of money on bringing players here, which means that others need to go.
And we are for sure getting money from them. My plan is to get as much as possible of the money we spent back.
We've spent more than 50 million euros. I hadn't realised that until we started to talk about numbers in the office with Mr Kenwright and Horan.
Numbers are my least favourite thing in this job. They have been my least favourite thing since school. But it has to be done.
"I'm happy with the money we spent seeing the players we got. Little amount having in mind their quality." Mr Kenwright told us.
"It's pretty good, yeah." Horan said. "We need a few sales though."
"Definitely." I agreed. "I can talk to the manager to see who he doesn't really count with." I offered.
"That would be great, Greenwood. Thank you." Mr Kenwright replied.
We spent some more minutes talking about money and the club's future in general.
We reached the conclusion that everything was going to be fine if we kept doing what we were doing.
After that, I went to the training fields to talk with Silva, the manager. He told me a few players that could be sold if needed.
As I did the other time, I stayed there for a few minutes and observed the training session. Everything looks fine. The players look even happier.

When I left, I went straight to the office to give Horan the information I got.
"How did it go?" Horan asked from his desk when I entered the office.
"Good. I have info." I replied.
"Tell me everything." He smirked.
"He said that he doesn't need Gueye as long as we bring another midfielder. And that with Iwobi here Vlašić could be sold as well." I explained.
"Okay. And do you know any midfielders?" Horan asked. "If we sell one and buy another, the one we sell should be more expensive."
"Obviously. And I thought of something while I walked back here." I said.
"Spill, Greenwood. I'm all ears." He said.
"Well, PSG showed interest in Gueye a few days ago." I started.
"Yeah." He agreed.
"I was thinking about negotiating with them, and making Barça an offer for André Gomes." I explained.
"Those two have the same value." Horan said, confused.
"Not if we pull a Greenwood." I smirked.
"What are you thinking about?" He asked, raising an eyebrow with a little smile on his face.
"PSG has a lot of money, it won't matter to them if we say Gueye has more value for us. And Barça would do anything for some money. If we start lower they will end up accepting a price that is beneficial for us." I explained.
"So the plan is to swindle Barça and PSG like we did with Juve." He laughed.
"Even worse if we can. If a club is short of money, you gotta play with that card in your favour. I learnt that in League one."
