When we pulled back from the hug, we looked at each other's eyes again, then looked around us for some seconds, and gave each other a kiss on the lips when we saw we were alone.

Or so we thought, because the moment our lips separated, we saw Marie crossing the hallway.

"Oh, I'm sorry." She said, obviously not expecting to be in this situation again.

"We're the ones who are sorry, Marie." Niall said. "Will we ever learn?" He chuckled, making me laugh softly as well.

Marie also chuckled, and shook her head slightly. "I'll pretend I didn't see that one either. Have a good day, Mr Horan, Ms Greenwood." She smiled.

"Thank you. You too." We both smiled back at her.

The short walk back to our office was also silent. However, this time, it was a comfortable silence. Niall had his arm around my shoulders, I had mine around his waist, and we were looking at each other every few seconds, with genuine smiles on our faces.

Once we entered the office and closed the door, we kissed again. I felt like my heart was about to burst out of joy and relief that we were like this.

"Took us long enough, didn't it?" I told him, with a smirk on my face, once we pulled away from the kiss.

"I've been dying to tell you. I just didn't know if it would overwhelm you in some way." He admitted. "I didn't know how to tell you either." He chuckled nervously.

"The same happened to me. I didn't know if you would feel the same." I admitted to him as well.

"I'm glad we're on the same page then." He smiled. "And the conversation with Bill was a weight off my shoulders too. It's a relief that he's not as mad as he could've been."

"Yeah, definitely." I agreed with him. "It's definitely one less problem for us."

"And the public won't be that big of a problem, believe me." He said, as he saw that I still wasn't fully relaxed about everything that has been said and seen of us.

"I hope so." I sighed. "We will still be there for each other, no matter what, yeah?" I said, looking for his reassurance.

"Of course. Even if it all melts down. I will never not defend you or not be there for you." He assured me. "Because I love you." He said again, a warm smile on his face.

"I love you too, gentleman." I smiled back, and hugged him.

The weekend arrived quickly. Today, Saturday, we have a league match against Crystal Palace, in Goodison Park, our stadium.

The match I'm hoping makes everyone forget about the pictures they've been talking about for the last three days.

It's been hard to arrive at work and not come across any camera, almost an impossible scenario. There was always at least a journalist there, first thing in the morning, waiting to ask about my private life.
