It was a warm, sunlit afternoon at Dodger Stadium, and you were buzzing with excitement. Your best friend, Junebug, had surprised you with tickets to your very first Dodgers game at Dodger Stadium. The two of you arrived early, soaking in the electrifying atmosphere and the view of the field from their seats close to the action.

As the game began, players started running out onto the field, each greeted with thunderous cheers. Just then, You  spotted a familiar face you never expected to see on the Dodgers’ roster: Tommy Edman, recently traded from the Cardinals. He moved effortlessly across the field, focused, yet there was something about him that felt different in Dodger blue.

"Wait," you whispered to Junebug, barely able to contain your excitement. "Is that… Tommy Edman?"

Junebug leaned over, following your gaze. "Oh, it is! And wow, he’s actually looking this way!"

Sure enough, Tommy’s eyes drifted up to the stands, and for a brief, electrifying moment, his gaze met yours. You gave him a small yet confident wink. Tommy blinked, visibly taken aback, his focus wavering. He forced himself to look away, but it was clear something was brewing in him.

"I think you broke him," Junebug teased, nudging you.

Throughout the game, it became obvious that you had completely thrown Tommy off his rhythm. Every time he stepped up to bat, he seemed distracted. He’d shake his head, try to focus, and yet, his gaze would drift toward the stands. You noticed and couldn’t help but feel a bit of a thrill—Tommy Edman was absolutely flustered, and it was because of you.

By the seventh inning, Tommy had struck out twice. As he returned to the dugout after his third attempt, he looked back up in your direction, shaking his head with a shy smile.

"Girl, I think he’s into you," Junebug whispered excitedly. "He’s definitely off his game."

After the Dodgers secured the win, you and Junebug were still buzzing with excitement from the whole experience. But just as the two of you were about to leave your seats, two security guards approached.

"Excuse me, miss," one of them said politely, "Tommy Edman would like to see you."

Your jaw dropped. You glanced back at Junebug, who grinned back at you, giving you a little nudge. “Go on! You’ve got a ballplayer waiting for you!”

As the two of you were escorted to a quieter area, Your heart raced. When you both arrived, Tommy was waiting, a bit nervous but smiling.

"Hey," he greeted, his eyes never leaving yours. "I, uh...I couldn’t concentrate out there. You really threw me off my game."

You grinned, feeling a surge of confidence. "My bad, maybe you just need a better game face," you teased.

He laughed, scratching the back of his neck. "Yeah, maybe. Or maybe I just need your name."

"It’s Y/N," you replied, extending your hand, which he took, his grip warm and gentle. "And this is my best friend, Junebug."

“Nice to meet you both.” He flashed Junebug a quick, friendly smile before his gaze returned to you. “You’re seriously stunning. I don’t usually get this…distracted but after uh you know saw you I just couldn't think straight."

You felt your cheeks flush but held his gaze. "Well, I could say the same about you, Mr. Major League."

The two of you continued chatting, each finding excuses to keep the conversation going, until finally, Tommy took a small breath, looked down and kissed you.

Tommy’s lips met yours softly at first, and then, as the both of you relaxed, the kiss deepened. There was a warm, gentle feeling that made you feel as though the world around the two of you had faded away. When you two finally pulled apart, both of you were smiling, your cheeks flushed.

"So," he murmured, still close, "how about I make this a tradition? Every home game, you here, cheering me on?”

Your heart skipped a beat. "I think I’d like that."

Junebug, who had been watching with an amused smile, laughed. “I’ll have to keep her from running down onto the field, but yeah, I think she’s in.”

Tommy chuckled, wrapping an arm around you. "Good. Because I think I’ve found my good luck charm."

The two of you shared a warm, lingering hug, both feeling that this was the start of something incredible, as the stadium lights dimmed and the stars began to fill the night sky over Dodger Stadium.
