The Dodgers had done it; they had just won the World Series, and the roar of the crowd of the thousands of Dodger fans at Yankee Stadium was deafening. Anthony stood with his teammates, arms raised in triumph, his heart pounding as his teammates rushed towards each other, enveloping each other in a massive group hug.
"Oh Fuck!" shouted Anthony, his voice almost lost in the noise. He could hardly believe it—they’d won! He laughed, hugging his teammates, soaking up every moment. After all those trades and DFA's, all his hard work, the sweat, and the grueling hours had led to this moment, and he was on top of the world.
From the sidelines, you watched with a huge smile, your heart swelling with pride. You saw Anthony laughing and celebrating with his teammates, his face alight with pure joy. As he spotted you in the crowd, he gave you a wink, making your heart skip a beat.
After a few minutes of celebrating with his team, Anthony walked over to where you were standing. You stepped forward, wrapping your arms around him tightly, and he picked you up, twirling you around.
"I knew you’d do it!" You exclaimed, laughing as he set you down. "You were amazing out there!"
Anthony grinned, brushing a strand of hair out of you face. "Couldn’t have done it without you cheering me on," he said, his eyes softening. He leaned down and kissed you, uncaring of the cameras flashing around you two. This moment was yours.
The rest of the team was still celebrating around them, and Anthony could feel his heart racing, but this time, it wasn’t just because of the win. He reached into his back pocket and took a deep breath, ready for the biggest play of his life.
“Hey, Y/N?” he said, taking a small step back. You tilted her head, confused as he reached into his pocket.
“What’s going on?” you asked, a puzzled smile on your face as you noticed his hand shaking slightly.
Anthony’s teammates had started to notice, and a few nudged each other, smirking as they realized what was about to happen. The cameras zoomed in, and the stadium's giant screen turned to capture the scene unfolding.
Anthony dropped to one knee, his hand holding a small velvet box. Gasps echoed around them as your hands flew to your mouth, your eyes wide with shock.
“Y/N,” Anthony began, his voice trembling slightly, but he managed a smile as he looked up at you. “From the first day I met you, I knew you were the one. You’ve been with me through all the highs and the lows, moving state to state with me without a second thought and now I can’t imagine my life without you by my side.”
Your eyes filled with tears, your hands still covering your mouth as you took in the moment. You could barely breathe as you watched him open the box, revealing a beautiful diamond ring that sparkled under the stadium lights.
“You’re my best friend, my biggest fan, and the love of my life,” he continued, his voice soft but steady. “So, Y/N… will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?”
Your eyes brimmed with tears as she nodded, barely able to speak through the emotion. “Yes! Oh my gosh, yes, Anthony!”
The stadium erupted into cheers as Anthony slipped the ring onto your finger. He stood up, pulling you into his arms and lifting you off the ground as he kissed you. The two of you could hear the cheers of the fans around them, and his teammates began chanting his name, joining in the celebration.
“Way to go, man!” Alex yelled, clapping him on the back. Kiké called out, “Finally, someone tied him down!”
You laughed, looking up at Anthony, your eyes shining with tears of joy. “I can’t believe you just did that,” you whispered, still in awe.
Anthony chuckled, holding you close. “I couldn’t imagine a better moment, a better place—or a better person—to spend my life with.”
He leaned down to kiss you again, and as the two of you broke apart, he glanced over at his teammates, who were eagerly waiting to join them.
“You guys better be nice to her,” Anthony teased, giving them a look. “She’s family now.”
The whole team erupted into cheers, welcoming you with high fives and warm hugs. It was a moment you would never forget, surrounded by Anthony’s teammates and the fans who had just witnessed not only a World Series win but also a proposal.
As the crowd finally began to settle, Anthony looked down at you, a grin spreading across his face.
“Well, looks like I just made the best play of my life,” he said, winking.
You laughed, your heart filled with love and happiness. “You sure did, champ.”
