The air buzzed with excitement at Dodger Stadium. The World Series parade had ended hours ago, but the energy was still electric as fans flooded the stands for the championship Fan Fest. Blue and white banners waved in the breeze, and chants of "Let’s go, Dodgers!" echoed across the stadium. You sat in the VIP section on the field, watching the stage set up on the field where all the players stood, celebrating their monumental win.
Your boyfriend, Jack, stood among them. He looked so at home, grinning as he laughed with his teammates, his white LA's job finished shirt fitting perfectly over his broad shoulders. Seeing him like this made your chest swell with pride. You’d been there through it all—the early mornings, the late nights, the moments of doubt. And now, here he was, living his dream, and you couldn’t have been prouder.
One by one, the players took the microphone, giving speeches, thanking the fans, and reliving highlights of the season. Jack was the last to speak, and when he stepped forward, the crowd went wild. The chants of his name—“Jack! Jack! Jack!”—rose like a wave, reverberating through the stadium.
He raised a hand, his signature boyish grin in place. “Thank you, thank you! Man, this is unreal,” he began, his voice steady despite the overwhelming applause.
As the noise quieted, Jack continued, “You know, growing up, I was just a kid in the stands. I used to sit over there—” he pointed toward the bleachers—“with my mom and my brother. We’d eat Dodger Dogs, scream at the umpires, and dream about what it would be like to be on this field. And now, to be standing here, not just as a player, but as a World Series champion? It’s a dream come true.”
The crowd erupted again, and you couldn’t help but smile, your hands clapping until they ached.
Jack’s expression softened as he glanced down at you “But I didn’t get here alone. There are so many people who’ve been with me every step of the way, and I want to take a moment to thank them.”
He turned to his teammates. “To my brothers, my teammates—you guys are my family. We’ve been through hell and back this season, and I wouldn’t trade a single moment of it. Thank you for pushing me to be better every day.”
The fans roared their approval, and Jack took a deep breath, his eyes scanning the crowd.
“To the fans—you are the heartbeat of this team. Your passion, your faith, your unwavering support—it means the world to us. We play for you, and we wouldn’t be here without you.”
Then, his voice thickened with emotion. “To my mom—” He paused, his gaze locking on her in the crowd. “Mom, you gave me everything when I had nothing. You adopted me as a baby, gave me a home, and believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. I love you.”
The camera panned to her, tears streaming down her face as she waved back.
“And to my brother,” Jack said, his grin returning. “You’ve been my rock, man. Thanks for putting up with me all these years.”
You noticed a change in his expression as he turned his gaze directly toward you. Your heart skipped a beat as the camera followed his line of sight, putting your face on the jumbotron. The crowd cheered louder, and you felt a blush rise to your cheeks as thousands of fans looked your way.
“And finally,” Jack said, his voice soft but steady, “to you.” His eyes met yours, and the love in his gaze made the entire stadium feel small and intimate.
“You’ve been my biggest supporter, my anchor, my best friend. You’ve been with me through the highs, the lows, and everything in between. I wouldn’t be here without you.”
Your eyes widened as Jack motioned to the security guards on the field. “Can you bring her up here?” he asked, his voice clear and confident.
The security guards approached you, gesturing for you to follow them down to the field. Your heart pounded in your chest as you made your way through the crowd, down the stairs, and onto the field. The noise from the fans was deafening, but all you could focus on was Jack, waiting for you at the base of the stage.
He reached out to help you up the steps, his hand warm and steady as he guided you onto the stage. “You look beautiful,” he whispered, his voice just for you.
You barely had time to respond before he turned back to the microphone. “Winning the World Series has been the highlight of my career,” he said. “But there’s something else I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. And I think it’s time to make that dream a reality.”
Your breath caught as Jack reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. He dropped to one knee, and the crowd erupted into an ear-splitting roar, the stadium vibrating with the energy of thousands of cheering fans.
Jack looked up at you, his eyes shining with emotion. “Y/N You’ve been my everything,” he said, his voice steady but filled with emotion. “You’ve stood by me through thick and thin, through every high and every low. I don’t just want to share this ring with you—I want to share my life with you. Forever.”
He opened the box, revealing a stunning diamond ring that sparkled brightly under the Californua sun.
“Will you marry me?”
Tears welled in your eyes as you nodded, your voice caught in your throat. “Yes,” you finally managed to whisper, your answer drowned out by the deafening cheers of the crowd.
Jack slid the ring onto your finger, his hands trembling slightly. He stood and pulled you into his arms, spinning you around as the fans chanted, “YES! YES! YES!”
When he finally set you down, he cupped your face in his hands and kissed you, the moment feeling like it belonged to just the two of you despite the thousands of people watching.
Jack turned back to the microphone, his arm around your waist. “She said yes!” he announced, his voice triumphant.
The crowd went wild, and his teammates cheered. But for you, nothing shone brighter than the love in Jack’s eyes as he looked at you.
