The stadium was buzzing with energy as you made your way through the familiar seats, your gaze sweeping over the field until you spotted Tommy warming up with his teammates. He looked relaxed, his usual focus sharpened by his pre-game ritual, and you couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride. You settled into your seat next to Junebug, looking forward to cheering him on and enjoying a perfect evening of baseball.

Just as you were about to take a sip of your drink, you heard a voice call your name. You turned, surprised to see Austin Butler standing nearby, a friendly smile on his face. The two of you hadn’t spoken in a while after your break up, and you weren't expecting to run into him at the stadium, of all places.

“Austin! Wow, hey,” you greeted, returning his smile. “It’s been forever!”

“Yeah, it really has,” he replied, stepping closer. “You look great. How’ve you been?”

The two of you quickly fell into conversation, catching up on life and filling in the gaps since they’d last spoken. You didn’t think much of it; they were just two old friends reminiscing. But what you didn’t realize was that Tommy, from his spot on the field, had noticed you talking to Austin—and he wasn’t liking the scene one bit even with Junebug there.

He saw the way Austin looked at you, a little too long, a little too warmly. Tommy could feel his jaw clench, his stomach twisting with a twinge of jealousy that he couldn’t ignore. He tried to focus on his warm-up, but his eyes kept darting back to the stands where you stood, laughing at something Austin had said.

When he couldn’t take it any longer, Tommy jogged over to the dugout and grabbed a bottle of water, using it as an excuse to cool down. He noticed a few teammates eyeing him curiously, and one of them, Gavin, raised an eyebrow as he noticed Tommy’s scowl.

“Everything good, man?” Gavin asked, nudging him.

Tommy tried to play it cool, but he couldn’t hide the irritation in his voice. “Yeah, yeah. Just… Y/N’s talking to her ex up there.”

Gavin chuckled. “Ah, that’s rough. But hey, she’s here for you, isn’t she?”

Tommy nodded, forcing himself to look away, but he still couldn’t shake the feeling. All he wanted was to get this game over with and remind you that he was the one you were with now—and he wasn’t about to let some ex-boyfriend make her forget that.

The game went on, with Tommy keeping one eye on the field and one eye on you. You cheered him on as usual, waving and flashing him a bright smile whenever he looked her way, which did help to ease his worries a little. But every now and then, he’d catch a glimpse of Austin lingering nearby, and it was all he could do not to let it throw him off his game.

After the game ended in a Dodgers win, you made her way down to meet Tommy near the dugout, Junenug in town excited to congratulate him. But just as you reached him, you noticed the tension in his shoulders, the way he looked slightly annoyed despite their victory.

“Hey, shortstop superstar!” you greeted, grinning. “You played amazing!”

“Thanks,” he replied, though his voice was a bit cooler than usual. “I saw you talking to Austin earlier.”

You blinked, surprised by his tone. “Yeah, I ran into him. We just caught up for a bit.”

Tommy’s eyes softened as he looked down at you, and he took a deep breath, clearly struggling to keep his jealousy in check. “It just… seemed like he was getting a little too friendly.”

You reached for his hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “Tommy, he’s just an old friend now. You’re the one I’m here for. You’re the one I love.”

He exhaled, the tension easing from his shoulders as he held your gaze. “I know. I just… I guess I got a little jealous. I saw the way he was looking at you, and I couldn’t help it.”

You smiled, stepping closer until your hand rested on his chest. “You don’t have to worry about him. I only have eyes for you.”

He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close as he leaned down to press a soft, lingering kiss to her forehead. “Good. Because I don’t want anyone else. You’re mine, Y/N.”

You laughed, her arms slipping around his waist. “I’m all yours, Tommy. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

He looked down at her, his smile returning as he stroked her cheek. “I’m sorry for getting jealous. I just… can’t stand the thought of anyone else wanting you.”

You tilted your head up to kiss him, your lips brushing against his softly. “That’s okay. I kinda like knowing that you care that much.”

Tommy chuckled, his hand moving to cradle your face as he deepened the kiss, pouring all of his feelings into that one moment.
