The crowd at Dodger Stadium buzzed with excitement as you made your way to your seat, wearing Anthony’s jersey with his number proudly displayed on the back. The sun was shining, and the smell of hot dogs and popcorn filled the air. You had been looking forward to this game all week, eager to cheer on your boyfriend, Anthony Banda.

Settling into your seat, you scanned the field and smiled when you spotted Anthony warming up. His focus was unwavering as he threw a few pitches, and you couldn’t help but feel proud of him. He had worked so hard to get here, and you loved seeing him do what he loved.

“Y/N?”

The voice startled you. Turning around, you came face-to-face with someone you hadn’t seen in years—Austin Butler. He looked almost the same, though a bit more polished and grown-up. His warm smile instantly brought back memories.

“Austin? Wow, hi!” you said, genuinely surprised.

“I can’t believe it’s you. It’s been forever,” he said, his voice carrying a mix of excitement and disbelief.

You laughed, the awkwardness melting away as you caught up. Austin shared stories about his recent projects, and you told him about your life in Los Angeles. It felt strangely easy to talk to him, as if no time had passed.

What you didn’t realize was that Anthony had spotted you from the dugout. His gaze locked on you and Austin, his jaw tightening when he saw the way Austin leaned in, clearly captivated by you. Anthony could tell by Austin’s body language that he wasn’t just reminiscing—he wasn’t over you.

Anthony’s coach clapped a hand on his shoulder, pulling him back to the game. But Anthony’s thoughts lingered on you and Austin.

As the game progressed, you cheered loudly for Anthony, but every so often, Austin would say something that made you laugh, and Anthony noticed. He couldn’t help the twinge of jealousy that flared up in his chest every time he glanced at you.

After the Dodgers clinched the win, you waited by the players’ exit to congratulate Anthony. Austin had stuck around, still chatting with you, when Anthony finally emerged. His eyes found you immediately, and you saw a flicker of something unreadable in his expression.

“Hey, babe,” Anthony greeted, pulling you into a hug. He kissed your temple, his arms tightening around you just a little more than usual.

“Great game!” you said, smiling up at him.

Anthony’s gaze flicked to Austin, his smile tightening. “Thanks. Who’s your friend?”

“This is Austin,” you said, gesturing. “We used to know each other. Austin, this is Anthony.”

Austin extended a hand, but Anthony hesitated for a split second before shaking it. “Nice to meet you,” Austin said.

“You too,” Anthony replied, his tone polite but cool.

An awkward silence followed, and you cleared your throat. “We were just catching up,” you explained, sensing Anthony’s tension.

Anthony nodded but didn’t reply. Instead, he wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you closer. “We should probably get going, though. Long day,” he said, his eyes firmly on Austin.

Austin took the hint. “Of course. It was great seeing you, Y/N. Take care.”

“You too,” you said, waving as he walked away.

Anthony stayed silent until you reached his car. He opened the door for you, his jaw still clenched.

“Everything okay?” you asked, touching his arm gently.

Anthony sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Yeah, it’s just… Austin.”

“What about him?”

“I could tell he’s not over you,” Anthony said bluntly, his eyes meeting yours. “And I don’t like the way he was looking at you.”

You blinked, surprised by his candor. “Anthony, you don’t have to worry about Austin. That’s in the past. I’m with you now.”

He nodded, but his lips pressed into a thin line. “I know that, but seeing him with you—it just made me realize how much I want you. Like, I can’t stand the thought of anyone else even trying to take you away.”

Your heart softened at his words. Stepping closer, you cupped his face in your hands. “Anthony, you don’t have to feel that way. You’re the one I choose every day. You’re the one I love.”

His shoulders relaxed, and he leaned into your touch. “I love you too. I just… I don’t want to lose you.”

“You won’t,” you promised, brushing a kiss against his lips.

The tension melted away as Anthony pulled you into his arms, holding you like he never wanted to let go. “You’re mine, Y/N,” he whispered, his voice filled with conviction.

“And I always will be,” you replied, smiling against his chest.

The rest of the night was filled with soft kisses and whispered reassurances, reminding Anthony that no one could ever take his place in your heart.
