Caitlin had been struggling for a while. After each game she would go home and just scroll aimlessly, looking at all the cruel things people would say about her. She couldn't even deny half of them, she was playing terrible, no matter how hard she trained she just couldn't get better. Katie started noticing Caitlin coming home late from training, leaving early before the sun came up, not even stopping to eat. Katie missed her girlfriend and needed her back.

One training the girls were all practicing penalty's, something Caitlin had really been working on, but when she couldn't get a single one in, she started to get really frustrated. Katie noticed immediately, and walked up behind her, "it's okay Cait, you can't get them all" Katie said patting Caitlin on the back, "I can't even get one" Caitlin replied annoyed, removing Katie's arm from her back and walking away. She was now furious. Training ended and as all the girls came in, Caitlin stayed out, practicing her penalty's over and over, she didn't have a goalkeeper and still couldn't get one in. All she had to do was aim but she just couldn't. Tears started to well in her eyes from frustration, but she didn't stop, over and over again kicking the ball. The tears were now falling out of control, blurring Caitlin's vision, making the shots even harder. Katie noticed Caitlin stay out on the field but decided to let her train by herself, a little annoyed that she walked away from her earlier. But as Katie waited in the change room and Caitlin still hadn't come in, she decided to go check on her.

As soon as Katie got to the field, she saw Caitlin in bits, kicking the ball as hard as she could against the goal, still missing every time. Katie's heart couldn't help but break at the sight. As she walked over, Caitlin still hadn't noticed her. "Cait, Caitlin" Katie yelled to get Caitlin's attention, Caitlin stopped kicking the balls but didn't turn around, "cait come on let's just go home", Katie said now walking up to Caitlin and standing infront of her, seeing the tears fall from her deep blue eyes. "I can't Katie, I need to get them in" Caitlin said looking down, "cait, I need you to listen to me" Katie said making Caitlin sit down on the ground, then doing the same. "everyone has bad days, you can't dwell on them, the more you think about every missed tackle or pass or shot you've made, the worse it gets. Instead of thinking about fixing what your doing and changing it, you think about every little detail you did wrong, of course your going to do the exact same thing when that's all that's on your mind". Katie started, Caitlin just sat taking it all in. "Cait I know it's hard, but you can't listen to what people have to say about you, I see you on your phone after each game, it's not healthy. Caitlin, your over training, you need rest, you also need to talk to someone, weather that's me or anyone. You can't keep all your emotions in, it's not good for you". Caitlin didn't reply just nodded, "now" Katie said standing up and holding out her hand for Caitlin and wiping her tears, "I'm going to be your goal keeper, your going to take these penalties like you did at the World Cup and think about nothing else, than we're going to go home, eat dinner on the couch and watch Netflix, and finally tomorrow we are sleeping in, and resting" Katie finished, Caitlin couldn't help but smile as Katie went and grabbed her a ball before walking over to the goal.

Caitlin got every single goal in after that, once both girls had enough, they went home, and showered. Than Katie made them both a bowl of pasta while Caitlin picked a movie. As the girls were sitting down Caitlin looked to Katie, "Thank you for today, I was stuck in my head, I needed to hear that" Katie wrapped her arms around Caitlin and kissed her forehead. Before saying, "No need to thank me, I love you, I hated seeing you like that. I want you to talk to me though, let me in so I can help you before it gets that bad". Caitlin nodded before turning to watch the movie. The next day both girls had a much needed rest day.

Caitlin had a blinder of a game that weekend, scoring a hat trick, shutting up all the haters. Katie couldn't of been prouder of Caitlin.
