As Caitlin sat on her lounge scrolling aimlessly on on instagram she came across a post from Manchester city, announcing her best friends departure from the club, she'd known for a while, Alannah had told her she was thinking about leaving when the hate from fans got so bad, when they met over the break she told Caitlin about her move to angle city, Caitlin knew Alannah leaving man city was coming, but when she heard she was leaving to angle city, a little piece inside of her broke. Although she couldn't show that at the time, instead she hugged Alannah tight while telling her how proud she was and how exiting this knew part of her life was going to be. Caitlin really did mean everything she said, she was proud of Alannah for making that move, it's hard, especially when you love your current club so much, like Alannah did. But knowing both Alannah and Mackenzie were in the NWSL, miles and miles away from her, it scared her. She knew they were only a phone call away, but the 3 had always been close by, playing in the same leagues for so long, the feeling of knowing she'd never come up against them again in the league left an empty pit in her stomach. As she read Alannahs goodbye message for her teammates and fans her eyes began to water, Alannah wasn't just saying goodbye to them, but also her. Before Caitlin could spiral to much Katie walked down the stairs after having a shower, making her self known, "What are we thinking for dinner, I'm starving" Katie asked as she sat close beside Caitlin, who quickly snapped out of it and wiped her loose tears, "Oh uh, um I don't mind, whatever" Caitlin replied quietly making Katie look at her finally, instantly she saw her teary eyes, "Hey, what's up" Katie asked as she leaned her body closer to Caitlin and cupped her face with her hands, Caitlin shook her head, "nothing I'm fine, dinner?" Caitlin said changing the subject, Katie looked at her, "You sure" Katie asked knowing she was lying, "promise" Caitlin replied, Katie didn't believe her, but didn't push any further, "Okay" she said before kissing Caitlin's lips softly and going back to ordering dinner.

Later that night as the two cuddled up on the couch watching love island, Caitlin scrolled through her photos looking for the perfect ones to post for Alannah's birthday, as she did, she found herself, staring at them, remembering all the memories the 3 shared together growing up, living together, playing for the same team, realising she'll never get that again. As she continued to dig for old photos, she only worked herself up more, every photo just reminding her how much she was going to miss her best friend. As tears began to well in her eyes she instantly sat herself up from the couch, before waking upstairs. Katie who was lying peaceful on top of Caitlin, was left confused. She watched as Caitlin quickly walked up the stairs and shut the bedroom door behind her. Katie sat up worried before following her, she knocked softly on the bedroom door before opening it, Caitlin had her head in her hands crying, "what's going on babe" Katie asked as she crouched down infront of Caitlin and moved her hands to see her face, Caitlin just cried harder, Katie stood up before sitting next to Caitlin, wrapping her arms tightly around her as she cried into her shoulder, "Talk to me cait, I'm worried about you" Katie said as she wiped Caitlin's tears, "I have no one" Caitlin cried into Katie shoulder, Katie looked at her confused before kissing the top of her head, "What do you mean, you have me, beth, viv, Steph, Kyra, less, I could go on forever, you have so many great people around you" Katie replied confused and worried, Caitlin shook her head, "My best friends, both of them are gone" Caitlin than said making Katie understand, "Oh cait, just cause there living else where doesn't make them gone, there just a call away, you will see eachother every camp, there still your best friends, they'd drop everything for you, no matter how far away" Katie said softly as she wiped Caitlin's tears and kissed her forehead, "It's not the same, we've always been close by, I can't live without them" Caitlin replied with teary eyes, "it's going to be hard, but you'll find away to catch up everyday, I know you will, your the closet friends I've ever met, the love you all have for eachother is not something distance can get between, you all stronger than that, I know you know that, don't over think it cait, spend Alannahs last few days in London with her, creating memories you'll cherish while she's gone, don't let her leave on a sad note, promise me that" Katie said as she kissed Caitlin's lips softly and hugged her tight, Caitlin didn't reply at first, letting Katie's words sink in, before she looked up to her, smiling slightly, "I promise" Caitlin replied quietly as she looked into Katie's eyes, "How do you always know what to say" Caitlin asked as she snuggled her head into Katie's chest, "It's not hard to tell you the truth cait" Katie replied smiling as she kissed Caitlin's forehead, "You should give Mac and lans a ring, talk to them, let them know your struggling, it'll put your mind a ease, trust me" Katie added as she kissed Caitlin one more time before giving her privacy to ring Alannah and Mackenzie.

After half an hour Caitlin walked back down the stairs, flopping herself on Katie, who wrapped her arms around her, "Thankyou" Caitlin whispered as she put her head in Katie's chest, "Anytime" Katie replied kissing Caitlin's forehead, "I love you" Caitlin said softly as she lifted her head up to kiss Katie's lips, "I love you to cait, and I'll always be here when you feel lonely, I'm not going anywhere" Katie replied smiling as she pulled away from the kiss, "Good, I couldn't handle that" Caitlin said smiling as she lied back down with Katie to finish watching tv.
