World Cup 2023

Caitlin had just won the opening game of the World Cup with the Matilda's she should be ecstatic, like the rest of her team, although her mind was spinning, Katie, Her Irish girlfriend who captained Ireland to there first ever World Cup, had just lost in there opening match. Caitlin could see the disappointment and failure in Katie's eyes as she walked around the pitch, but even that wasn't the main thing on her mind, instead Ruesha Littlejohn, Katie McCabe's ex girlfriend.
The two dated for almost 7 years, so the breakup was a shock, although they both knew deep down they had nothing left to give each other, and that's how it was meant to go. Ruesha had accepted it, and the two went back to live their lives separately for the first time in years. The breakup between the two was kept private, although rumours were spread about the famously loved couple splitting after a few pictures were posted of Caitlin Foord and Katie soaking up the sun together in Ibiza, than Ruesha unfollowed Katie and Caitlin, confirming the breakup while also throwing sparks at the mcfoord rumours.

When the World Cup came around and Ruesha saw the draw, she made it her mission to make that opening game, living hell for Caitlin Foord, and that she did.
After blantanly ignoring Caitlin's hand before the game, she then went on to target the Aussie all match, sending her flying down to the pitch over and over again. At half time, Katie made eye contact with Caitlin, they had only recently got together and a game against each other in a World Cup was a real test in there relationship, the two decided to just play as best they could and whatever happens, happens, nothing will come in between them, they also made a rule to not talk to eachother during and after the match, there where rumours spreading about them and it would be easier to avoid eachother all together. That was until Katie saw Caitlin holding back tears, it wasn't clear but Katie knew Caitlin well enough to know. Immediately she walked up to her as the two teams walked into the tunnel, "Cait" Katie whispered loud enough for Caitlin to hear, although Caitlin ignored her, "Caitlin please" Katie pleaded again, Caitlin just kept walking, finally Katie grabbed Caitlin's wrist and swiftly pulled her into a side room before shutting the door, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING KATIE, ARE YOU TRYING TO GET US CAUGHT" Caitlin yelled angrily, clearly caught up in the game, Katie took a step back, she'd never heard Caitlin yell like that, "I just wanted to make sure you were okay, I'm sorry" Katie replied a little hurt she got yelled at, "I have to go" Caitlin said quietly as she turned around, "Are you okay" Katie asked softly, caitlin stopped at the door, "Do you know how much hate I'm going to get because of YOUR fucking ex, I'm going to be the blame Katie, I already was, now she's made it out like I cheated, nothing gets said about you, it's all me, it's all my fault, I can't take that Katie, I can't take her" Caitlin blurted out as a few loose tears fell, although Caitlin quickly wiped them, "Caitlin, I'm sorry, I don't kno-" Katie started before she was interrupted, "Don't, just don't" Caitlin said now crying as she turned to leave, Katie watched as the door slammed shut in her face, instantly anger rushed through her body. She stormed into her change room and straight for Ruesha, "The fuck is your problem" Katie yelled catching everyone's attention, "My fucking problem, hmm, maybe I just don't appreciate being CHEATED ON" Ruesha yelled back, Katie stepped back, "I didn't cheat, and you know that, don't play the victim, back off from Caitlin, alright" Katie said sternly, now lowering her voice, "The only thing I know is that bitch isn't getting it easy next half" Ruesha whispered back now making Katie's blood boil, without thinking she pushed Ruesha, back onto a bench "IF YOU TOUCH HER ONE MORE FUCKING TIME I SWEAR TO GOD" Katie yelled again as Denise and Anna pulled her away, "Trying to protect your new girlfriend" Ruesha mocked back, "She's not my girlfriend" Katie replied as she pushed out of the girls arms, "leave her alone Ruesha, I'm not asking again" Katie said one more time before going to sit down, "What was that" Denise asked after Katie sat down, "Nothing" Katie mumbled, "Grow up Katie, get your head in the game or go to the bench, there are plenty of people sitting there wishing they were playing right now, I'm not having someone with there mind half in it, your the captain, start acting that way or I'll take that off you" Eileen Ireland's manger yelled sternly, Katie just nodded as she held back her own tears.
