There weren't many things Katie kept from Caitlin, she told her everything, except when it came to her sneaky vape every now and then, she didn't know why she hid it, maybe she was scared as to how she would react. She only ever did it in the off season or if she's really stressed with football, and at the moment, after her Ireland team got knocked out of the euro qualifiers, and all the hate she's been getting from it, it's become a lifeline for her. She hated hiding it from Caitlin, but bringing it up now would be even worse, so instead she started to sneak around.

One afternoon when the two returned from training Katie stayed in the car, "What are you doing" Caitlin asked as she went to get out and walk inside, "I'm just going to call my family real quick" Katie said pulling out her phone, Caitlin looked at her confused, "You can't do that inside?" Caitlin laughed as she grabbed hers and Katie's bag, "It'll only take a second" Katie said as Caitlin just looked at her again before walking inside, as soon as Katie watched the door shut she grabbed out her vape, before walking inside a few minutes later. Caitlin was inside on the couch, when she saw Katie walk inside she patted the seat next to her, as Katie went to sit down Caitlin grabbed her by her waist and sat her down on her lap, before brushing her hands over Katie's arse, Katie froze as she felt Caitlin's hand brush over her vape that was still in her back pocket, Katie instantly jumped off Caitlin, "what" Caitlin asked confused and a little hurt, "nothing, just going to have a quick shower" Katie said as she ran upstairs to hide her vape before having a shower.

Things like this continued to happen more frequently and it only made Caitlin more suspicious, Katie would stay back in the car, or go for walks alone, she would go outside for fresh air at night or early in the morning, but it wasn't till her and Katie went out with a bunch of the Aussies did Caitlin finally realise what Katie was hiding, as they sat around the table sam looked at Katie, "How you doing, you know after what happened" Sam said genuinely although it did hurt Katie, "Yeh fine, thanks" Katie said looking down playing with her rings, "you did well Katie, I can't imagine the pressure you felt captaining that team, you should be proud" Alannah said looking at Katie who just slowly nodded, "yeh, thanks" she said although the more they brought it up the fresher it became in her mind, Caitlin could tell it was getting to her so tried to change the subject, "who wants another drink" she yelled as everyone said yes, "I'm just going to get some fresh air" Katie said quietly so only Caitlin could hear, Caitlin gave her a concerned look to which Katie shook her head, "I'm fine, it's just stuffy in here, I'll be back in a minute" she said getting up and walking outside. Once she got out she took out her vape, as Katie leaned against the wall vaping, the door to the bar opened, Katie turned her head before quickly putting her vape down her sleeve after seeing Caitlin walk out, "What are you doing" Caitlin asked seeing Katie put something down her jacket, "Nothing" Katie replied, Caitlin just looked at her, "I'm sorry they brought it up, I know it's still hard" Caitlin said ignoring Katie's weird behaviour, "Cait it's fine, honestly" Katie said turning to face Caitlin, "then why are you acting weird" Caitlin said as she stepped back to examine her girlfriend, "I'm not" Katie said trying to walk inside, that was when Caitlin noticed Katie holding her sleeve tight, she than grabbed Katie's hand, "what's in your sleeve" Caitlin asked Katie who froze, "nothing" she said trying to get her hand away, although she was too slow as Caitlin had already looked up her sleeve and seen the Vape, Caitlin just looked at Katie confused, "is that a...do you vape?" Caitlin asked confused as Katie never told her, "No, well yeh but only sometimes, when I'm stressed I guess" Katie said as she looked down ashamed, Caitlin grabbed Katie's hand and moved her body closer, "why didn't you tell me" Caitlin said realising how stressed Katie must be at the moment, "I..I didn't know how you would react" Katie said still looking down, Caitlin lifted up Katie's head before kissing her lips softly, "I'm always going to love you, I do think there's better ways to deal with your stress, but it doesn't bother me at all, I wish you had of told me though, I don't like how you felt you had to hide it from me, and deal with all your stress alone" Caitlin said giving Katie a soft kiss, Katie nodded slowly, "I didn't want anything to get in between us, I love you so much and your opinion is really important to me, I'm going to try and quit" Katie said looking down softly, "Kates I really don't mind, I don't want you to quit because of me" Caitlin said feeling guilty, "No I'm doing it for me, it's a bad habit and I need to start coping with my stress better, I guess I just needed someone to find out about it for me to realise" Katie said looking at Caitlin who was smiling proudly, before she held out her hand, Katie placed the vape into Caitlin's hand slowly, "I'm proud of you my pretty girl" Caitlin said as she gave Katie a kiss before putting the vape in her pocket and grabbing Katie's hand to walk back inside, when the two got back to the table they got a few weird looks from the girls, Caitlin sat down followed by Katie, "Cait, where's our drinks" Mackenzie said laughing, "oh fuck" Caitlin said standing up as the table laughed, although as Caitlin stood up abruptly the vape she had just placed in her pocket, swung out and onto the table, all the girls just stared at it, before looking up to Caitlin, Katie froze, she did not want other people to know about it, Caitlin turned to Katie quickly and saw her face, before she grabbed the vape and walked to the bar, all the girls just turned there heads to each other without talking, all so surprised that Caitlin would vape. Just before Caitlin got back Sam turned to Katie, "Did you know?" Sam asked Katie who just froze, she didn't want to throw Caitlin under the bus as it wasn't even hers, but she also didn't want them to know it was actually hers, "Um I-" Katie started before getting interrupted by Caitlin, "Yeh, she's been trying to get me to quit for a while" Caitlin said winking at Katie who smiled softly, falling in love over and over again, "Cait since when did you vape" Alannah asked thinking she knew everything about her best friend, "I don't want to talk about it" Caitlin said quietly knowing it would shut them all up, "Oh yeh okay" Alannah replied.

Soon after the night came to an end and as the girls were walking out, Sam stopped katie, "She's never been into that type of thing, she's always said she would never date someone who vaped, something must be really wrong, please look after her" Sam said as she hugged Katie, who just froze again, when Caitlin and Katie got into the Uber Caitlin turned to katie who was staring out the window, "You okay" Caitlin asked as katie slowly turned around with tears falling down her face, "Are you going to break up with me?" Katie asked in between sobs, "What, No" Caitlin said grabbing on to Katie's hand, "I'm going to quit cait, please I can't lose you, I'm sorry" Katie continued to cry as Caitlin tried to wipe her tears, "Katie I love you, I'm not leaving you, why would you think that" caitlin asked confused, "Sam told me you said you could never date someone who vaped" katie admitted quietly, "That was until a certain wild Irish girl came into my life and made it a thousand times better and continues to everyday, Katie you vaping doesn't change anything for me, I promise you" Caitlin said as she kissed Katie and held her tight, "Thank you for not telling them it was mine, I promise you I'm quitting" Katie said looking down, "Kates if you really want to quit I'll be there to support you through it, I'll always protect you, no matter the situation, I knew you wouldn't want them knowing, it was much easier to just tell them it was mine" Caitlin said as she kissed Katie's forehead, "I love you so much cait" Katie said looking up to Caitlin who smiled proudly, "I love you to" Caitlin replied placing a soft kiss on Katie's lips.
