Its stupid

Caitlin had been in a bad mood since she woke up, katie turned to give her morning kisses but was quickly shut down, "are you okay" Katie asked after getting pushed off of Caitlin, who was now standing up, "Yeh why" caitlin asked defensively, Katie sat up confused, "oh, just because.." Katie started before Caitlin snapped back at her, "what just because I don't want you to kiss me first thing in the morning there's something wrong with me" Katie just looked at her insanely confused, they had woken each other up like that since they started dating, "What no.. that's not what I meant cait" Katie said now also standing up and walking over to her, Caitlin just turned away and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her. Katie assumed she was tried from all the travel they had been doing lately and her morning coffee would fix it, but when they arrived at training and Caitlin was still very grumpy, Katie wondered if she had done anything.

Katie and Caitlin hadn't spoken since that morning, as Caitlin walked into the dinning area for breakfast and sat down straight away at there usual table, Katie looked at her confused before going to get herself and now Caitlin some food. Katie returned and placed a plate of food in front of Caitlin, "eat it", Katie said annoyed as she didn't know what she did and why she got yelled at this morning, everyone else on the table looked at the couple confused, Caitlin didn't eat her food, just moved it around on her fork, "Just have some cait" Katie said quietly as she placed her hand on Caitlin's thigh under the table, "Jesus leave me alone" Caitlin yelled as she got up and walked out, leaving Katie and the rest of the team confused, Steph followed Caitlin, while viv came and sat next to katie, "what was that about" viv asked katie who shook her head, "I actually have now idea, she's been like that all morning, she was fine last night" katie said starting to worry about Caitlin, viv picked up on it, "she'll been fine katie, she's had a packed few weeks, just give her some space" viv said as she stood up and squeezed Katie's shoulder before walking back to her table.

When Steph walked out she saw Caitlin grab her boots and walk out to the field, "woah, where are you going" Steph asked stopping Caitlin, "the field" Caitlin replied as she held up her boots, "why, training doesn't start for another hour" Steph said trying to stop Caitlin from walking away, Caitlin just looked down, "Did something happen with Katie" Steph asked Caitlin who looked up and shook her head, "than why did you yell at her" Steph asked again, Caitlin put her head back down, "I don't know" Caitlin said quietly playing with her boots, "Is something else going on?" Steph asked lifting Caitlin's head up to look at her, Caitlin just slowly nodded as a single year rolled down her cheek, "do you want to talk about it?" Steph asked Caitlin who shook her head instantly, "I get that, but Katie's in there worried sick, trying to figure out what she did, I think you should talk to her" Steph said wiping Caitlin's tear, Caitlin nodded slowly before Steph hugged her.

Caitlin walked back in and over to Katie, she didn't want to talk about it in front of everyone so instead she smiled at Katie as she sat back down next to her and started to eat. When breakfast was over and everyone was leaving to get ready for training Caitlin and Katie both stayed waiting till everyone left, "Did I do something" Katie spoke quietly as soon as it was just them in the room, Caitlin's turned to face Katie shaking her head, "No" Caitlin said before looking back down and playing with her rings, "Oh, okay then" Katie said annoyed because she still didn't know what was wrong with Caitlin, as Katie went to stand up Caitlin grabbed her, "wait, I'm sorry" Caitlin said still playing with her rings, "It's just, it's stupid, but this is the anniversary, I guess...of the um...the day my dad left us" Caitlin said not looking at Katie once, Katie sat back down in her seat before wrapping her arms around Caitlin, "cait, why didn't you tell me" Katie said as she wiped a few tears from Caitlin's eyes, "because it's stupid, it was so long ago, I don't know why it still affects me, I wish it didn't" Caitlin said into Katie's shoulder as she cried, "Cait it's not stupid, it really affected your family, you had to watch your mum go though that at such a young age, I can't imagine how hard it is being reminded of that, but you don't have to go though it alone, you have me, I'm not going anywhere" Katie said as she ran her fingers through Caitlin's hair, Caitlin nodded before Katie wiped her tears, "Thankyou Kates" Caitlin said quietly as Katie kissed her forehead, "I love you" Katie said to Caitlin as she stood up and held out her hand, Caitlin took it and smiled, "I love you too" Caitlin said as Katie squeezed her hand and brought her in close.

When the two girls walked into the change rooms to get ready for training, Steph gave Caitlin a look , Caitlin nodded indicating she had spoken to Katie, Steph smiled seeing the difference in Caitlin's attitude already. Katie spent the rest of the day, treating caitlin extra special, going the extra mile to show just how much love she had for her girl.
