First Love

Katie had only been out with Caitlin's friends a few times, Caitlin never really wanted to go and when she did it was all the aussies so Katie felt weird going. But when sams birthday came up, Sam invited both Caitlin and Katie, Katie thought about staying at home as she didn't want to crash the aussies party, but when Caitlin said the others partners were coming she felt bad saying no. When Caitlin and Katie arrived everyone else was already sat at the table, clearly already a few drinks in, "Yay, you made it" Sam said as she jumped up and hugged Caitlin, who laughed before going to get her and Katie a drink. Katie sat down on the end of the booth, wishing for Caitlin to come back quicker as she felt extremely uncomfortable, "So McCabe, how are you and cait going" Alannah asked as she noticed Katie looking for Caitlin, "uh yeh. Good" Katie said smiling, "I'm still so surprised you too are together" haley raso said as she stumbled over to squeeze herself in next to Katie, clearly very drunk, "Oh, yeh why's that" Katie laughed, Haley took a sip of her drink before speaking, "I mean.." she said looking over at sam, making Katie confused "Ras" Alannah said sternly giving her a look to shut up, Katie just laughed uncomfortably before Caitlin came back and sat next to Haley, "here Kates" Caitlin said passing her a drink, before going back and sitting next to Sam. As the night went on Katie sat uncomfortably between Haley and Alannah, she noticed Caitlin getting drunk pretty early on so decided to stick to waters after her first drink, although that didn't stop everyone around her from drinking, after Sam came back from the bar with a round of drinks for the table, she went and sat on Caitlin's lap, Katie thought nothing of it until Haley spoke up, "See what I mean, you never get over your first love" Haley said gesturing towards Caitlin and Sam, Caitlin was looking up to Sam with heart eyes, while sam looked to kristie and laughed, Katie watched on as Caitlin's spark left her eyes quickly. "Did they date?" Katie asked, now reading into the moment before, "didn't caitlin tell you?" Haley said as Katie still looked over at the two girls, Sam was now sitting on kristies lap, caitlin sat next to them laughing, katie couldn't help but feel a little hurt caitlin hadn't told her, "Uh..no" katie said quietly, Haley looked at her, "Don't worry, Sam does not see her like that anymore, that's why they broke up, caitlin was heartbroken for so long, we all think deep down she still has feelings for her" Haley said smiling, clearly way to out of it to realise what she was actually saying, Alannah who was sitting next to the two heard the end of the conversation, she than watched as Katie looked at Caitlin before standing up, "I'm uh going to head home, can you tell cait to ring me when she needs to be picked up" Katie said to haley who was way to drunk to do that, Alannah who heard Katie spoke up, "She didn't mean that Katie" Alannah said gesturing at haley, Katie just slightly smiled before walking out. As soon as Katie walked away Alannah went and sat next to Caitlin, "Katie's just left you need to go find her" Alannah said quickly to Caitlin who was so drunk, but sobered up as soon as she heard that, "what, why did she leave" Caitlin asked looking around for Katie, "ras, told her about you and sam, she assumed Katie already knew" Caitlin turned to face Sam who was now also listening, "What" Caitlin said before standing up and stumbling out of the bar, as soon as she got out she noticed Katie walking to her car, "Kates, wait up" Caitlin said slurring her words as she stumbled trying to catch up to katie, "what are you doing" Katie asked as she wrapped her arm around Caitlin to hold her up, "your leaving, so I'm leaving" Caitlin said as she started her walk to the car, Katie stopped them again, "no you don't have to, stay and have fun, I can come pick you up later" katie said although Caitlin read right through it, "Katie, it was years ago, we were young, I was working out my sexuality, it ended ages ago, I'm with you now" Caitlin said looking Katie in the eyes as she looked down, "If Sam hadn't of ended it, would...would you still be with her?" Katie asked not looking at Caitlin, "Kates..I can't answer that" Caitlin said remembering all the memories her and Sam shared together, "what about you and ruesha, you guys were together 7 years don't you think that's hard for me to come to terms with" Caitlin said now getting angry as the alcohol got to her, "that's completely different caitlin, I told you everything about my relationship with her, i had no idea you and sam even dated, let alone she broke your heart and your still not over it" Katie said walking away from Caitlin, "Katie, that's not fair" Caitlin said trying to catch up with her, "I am over it" Caitlin added as Katie tuned around, "I watched you tonight, you couldn't keep your eyes off her, when she sat on your lap, the smile you had, than when she went over to Kristie, the sparkle in your eyes disappeared, you spent the whole night flirting with each other" Katie yelled starting to work herself up. Sam had come out to check on the two after hearing the conversation with Alannah and Caitlin inside, when she walked out she saw them yelling at each other, Katie with tears in her eyes, "Call me when your over her" Katie said quietly as she gestured towards Sam who was walking towards the two before walking to her car and driving away as she broke down. Caitlin turned to face sam, before she broke down in her arms, "cait it's just a misunderstanding, your both drunk, you just need to talk it out" Sam said as she held Caitlin tight. Sam ordered caitlin an Uber back to hers and Katie's before giving  her one last hug and putting her in the car. When caitlin arrived home she walked in, all the lights were left on for Caitlin, when she went to there room Katie was asleep, although caitlin noticed her clothes laid out for her, some Panadol and water also on her bedside table clearly put there by Katie, caitlin smiled thinking about how Katie still took care of her even when they were fighting, caitlin immediately walked over to Katie's side, "Kates, just let me explain..please.. don't go to bed angry at me" Caitlin said, her voice cracking as she held back tears, katie opened her eyes and sat up, Caitlin took a seat on the bed, "Kates, I'm over Sam, well and truely, I have been for a long time, it's just, the breakup broke me, Sam wanted to stay friends and I was young and stupid and all I wanted was to be close to her, so I agreed, looking back I should've given myself time to heal. After the breakup I trained harder and stopped eating, I changed myself completely in hopes that sam would want me again, I was depressed and lonely, living with sam, Macca and Alannah I had no one to talk to about what was going on, I lost a ton of weight, and had to stop playing football, they made me move back home as I wasn't well enough, I ended up telling Macca and Lani about it, they told Sam because I couldn't, she came and visited me, we talked it out, when I saw her for the first time after I went home, I knew then and there I was over her, I wanted my bestfriend back, I just needed space away from her to realise, now we are friends and friends only, I want you and only you Katie, your perfect, I'm so so sorry I didn't tell you about Sam, it's kind of a touchy topic and I hate thinking about it, I didn't feel like I needed to because since then I've never looked at Sam that way again, I'm sorry" Caitlin finished looking up as Katie wrapped her arms around her, "I'm so sorry that you felt like that cait, I'm sorry I yelled at you, I should've talked to you first before jumping to conclusions, i love you more than anything my pretty girl" Katie said kissing Caitlin gently, which quickly escalated into more before both girls crashed out exhausted from the night out and the fight...
