Caitlin had been at arsenal for just under 4 years now, everyday the same as the next, and she was loving it. That was up until this year when the hate got bad, even now after all the Katie and ruesha drama died down, Caitlin was still getting bashed for her playing ability, her looks and even her family. It was hard to ignore and it made her start to hate the game she always loved.
Katie woke up and turned to Caitlin, they had training in an hour so Katie gently stroked Caitlin's arm to wake her up. Caitlin just groaned and turned the other way. This wasn't the first time Caitlin had been like this, almost everyday for the past few months getting Caitlin up for training and even game days was almost impossible. Katie was going to bring it up, but with the national break, champions league and the WSL, Katie just assumed she was tired. But now it was going on to long, Caitlin had changed. Caitlin used to be full of energy, always fast on her feet and never stopped running at training. She was always smiling, laughing and having a joke, and it was obvious she was happy at arsenal. Though Katie can't remember the last time she smiled, her laugh is always fake and she looks exhausted all the time. Katie knew something deeper was going on but with Caitlin being a very closed off quiet person, getting that out of her was going to be tough. "Cait, we have training in an hour" Katie said rolling over so she was now on top of Caitlin, and wrapping her arms around her like a teddy bear, "get off me Katie" Caitlin groaned trying to push Katie off of her, "No, not until you either get up, or tell me what the hell is going on with you" Katie said seriously, getting annoyed. Caitlin just sighed and started to get up, "So your really just going to push me away, again" Katie said sitting on the bed annoyed as Caitlin walked to the bathroom. Caitlin didn't reply just got ready for training and waited for Katie in the car.
The drive to training was silent, Caitlin had her head against the window, dreading the next few hours. As her thoughts began to spin, a few tears fell unnoticed by Katie who was looking straight ahead driving. When the girls arrived Katie started to get out when she noticed Caitlin just sitting with her seatbelt done up, "what are you doing" Katie spoke for the first time since that morning, Caitlin again didn't reply. "Whatever I'm going inside" Katie mumbled as she grabbed her bag and walked inside. Caitlin sat in the car, mind spinning 100 miles per hour, she loved football and it was her dream to be where she was right now, so she didn't understand why all she wanted to do was go inside and quit.
Katie walked into the change room and put her bags down aggressively before sitting in her cubby staring into the distance, Beth and Steph who were standing next to Katie both looked at each other before Beth spoke, "you okay McCabe" Katie didn't answer stuck in her thoughts trying to figure out what she did to Caitlin. "Katie" Steph yelled as she nudged her shoulder. "Jesus what" Katie replied shocked as she didn't even notice they were standing there. "What's wrong" Beth asked again, "nothing I'm fine" Katie replied quick and stern, "where's Caitlin" Steph asked not believing katie for a second, "In the car" katie said standing up to get changed, "why, is she coming in" Beth asked turning Katie's body to make her look at them, "who knows she isn't talking" katie said before walking off, with tears in her eyes. Beth followed Katie while Steph went out to the car park to check on Caitlin.
When Steph got to Katie's car she saw Caitlin still sat in her seat with her seatbelt on, staring at the arsenal crest on the wall with tears falling down her face, Steph opened Caitlin's door and wrapped her arms around her. "Oh Caitlin, what's wrong" Steph said while comforting Caitlin who started to wipe her tears and get out, "nothing I'm fine" Caitlin said before grabbing her bag and slowly walking inside. "Clearly somethings wrong, is it Katie" Steph asked catching up to Caitlin who was now stopped at the entrance. "What no" Caitlin said before refocusing on walking inside, Steph grabbed her arm before Caitlin could start walking again, "than why was she crying" Steph said making Caitlin look at her, "what when" Caitlin asked worried, "just before, she said you were in the car not talking to her, than walked off crying. Beth followed her and I came to check on you, thought you must of had a fight or something", Steph said confused, Caitlin didn't reply, just stared at the arsenal crest on the entrance door, "Cait what's wrong" Steph said worried about her friend, Caitlin now had tears in her eyes as she looked at Steph, "If..if I tell you something. You can't tell anyone. Especially Katie. Okay" caitlin said with a few tears falling, "of course cait, your scaring me" Steph said now extremely worried about her friend. "I'm going back to Australia, I'm done here" caitlin said quickly and quietly, "what no your not" Steph said grabbing caitlin to sit down, "cait your not even close to being done here, what are you talking about" caitlin didn't reply at first, "I have a meeting with Renae this morning to tell her" caitlin said as tears fell down her face, Steph just looked at caitlin as she also started to cry, "Cait don't do it, not yet, you need to talk to Katie about what is going on, talk to me talk to anyone. Tell them why you want go home" Steph said holding both of Caitlin's hands. Caitlin just shook her head before standing up and walking inside.
