Question: So I know in one of the chapters you told a little bit about your coming out story. I myself am gay and I just came out to my parents last week. I just wanted to know how you came out to yours.
First off, congratulations! It takes a lot of courage and you did it. So Im proud of you!
Alright so STORY TIME!
I came out to my parents in the 8th grade around Christmas. I remember it was just my parents and I sitting in the family room, we were all kind of doing our own thing and it just felt right to me. First thing you should know is that my father was very homphobic but my mom never really let me know if she believed what my father believed before hand.
NOW back to the story.
I literally just kind of said "Im gay."
And both of my parents looked up from what they were doing and kind of just stared at me. My mom kind of came over and sat next to me and gave me a smile and told me that she had known I had been for a while now. Now at this moment my father is just giving me these death glares like.
what do you mean you are gay? are you feeling happy? is that what you mean?
But before i could really say anything else my mother had ushered me out and up to my room in which for the rest of the night I heard my father yelling about how I shouldn't be gay. That was probably one of the worst nights and i think that was one of the few times I cried really hard. So I woke up the next morning to a card and it was my dad telling me that he was sorry and if we could talk to meet me outside on the back porch. So I mean, I wanted my father to not hate me for being gay so I went.
My father was sitting there with an empty seat beside him so I took it and he told me that he was sorry and that he would always love me no matter who I loved. It took my dad still alot of time to get used to the fact that I was gay, over time though he was able to accept it and now he finds it totally normal. I think me coming out actually brought my family and I closer than before to be honest with you.
I just want to congratulate you on coming out! So proud of you:)
AN// I got some advice that I could make an ask.fm and you guys could send it anon through that so the link will be put in the first chapter on here when I get that up:)
Have a wonderful day bitches xoxo
