Chapter 37
Sebastian Estate - Thyron's Room
Thyron's room looked like it had been hit by a Category 5 tantrum.
Papers lay shredded across the floor. Shirts hung from overturned chairs. Broken pens bled ink into the carpet. The desk lamp dangled by its cord, swaying slightly.
On the cracked computer screen blinked an unanswered chat thread.
Rickzen Verra had promised him. Promised that one day he would marry his daughter, Miexha.
That he was the chosen one.
The groom-in-waiting.
The boy is being raised for royalty.
So why the hell were the Doms involved now?
Thyron had assumed Zatariel Wov was his only real competition.
But Jayson Dom?
That was an entirely different class of threat.
And yet the engagement had been announced.
Officially. Publicly. Backed by Madame Wayne herself.
Thyron's hands slowly clenched into fists.
He had considered using Ofreigha to collapse the engagement—tempt Jayson into breaking it himself.
But that plan had hit a wall.
His parents, suddenly very cold, said...
"Your sister can't come back right now."
End of discussion.
But Thyron had seen the flicker in his mother's eyes. The same flicker that always meant dark, dangerous secrets. He didn't press her.
Not yet. But he would remember. And when the time came, he would ask the right questions.
For now, he would wait.
And while he waited... He would remind Miexha of who truly understood her.
He straightened his tie and picked up the bouquet of white lilies. Her favorite.
Then he slipped a small box of butter sticks into the gift bag.
No diamond could compete with that snack in Miexha's eyes.
He knew her that well. Down to her strangest cravings.
His gaze drifted around the room.
Small and cramped. Still clinging to his working-class roots.
His father was a ship captain for one of the Wayne Cruises.
His mother was a gynecologist at Wayne Memorial Hospital's Capital City branch.
The Sebastians weren't rich. They weren't powerful either.
They were workers. Loyal cogs inside the empire Miexha would one day inherit.
But Thyron was done being a cog.
He muted his phone and stepped into the waiting car.
The driver started the engine.
Thyron checked his reflection in the rearview mirror one last time.
Red hair. Clear skin. Solid build. Dangerous charm.
Even a straight man might double-take.
He smirked.
He was more than good enough.
==================
The car glided through the gilded gates of Wayne Estate.
