Chapter 100- The Golden Bunny
In the hush of unconsciousness, Miexha returned to the place where dreams bled truth.
The wind was soft. The sky above—dripping gold like wounded sunlight.
And there, again, the three bunnies danced through the high grass: two black, one brown. Tumbling, chasing. Laughing without sound.
Her heart tightened.
She knew them now.
Shellie—the tall black one, elegant, inquisitive.
Xiejay—the loud one, all limbs and leaps, fearless in joy.
Ariel—the quiet brown bunny, smaller, watchful, always one step behind.
They played as always—innocent, alive, unknowing.
But then her gaze slipped past them… to the far corner of the field.
Under the shadow of a lonely tree lay the white bunny.
Still.
Soaked in dried blood.
Eyes closed. Limbs curled.
Dead.
Her breath broke into shards.
Miexha fell to her knees, the sob tearing from her throat before she could even form her name.
“Jamie…”
Her firstborn.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered, voice cracking like a broken shell.
“I’m so, so sorry…”
And then, behind her—
a shift.
A breathless change in the wind.
She turned.
And there it was.
The golden bunny.
Taller. Stronger. Gleaming with unnatural light, its fur a molten gold that rippled like fire. Its eyes—blue, sharp, ancient.
But not empty.
No.
They burned.
Not with innocence.
But with sorrow.
And hate.
It spoke—without words. The thought struck her chest like a blade.
“Mother.”
Miexha flinched. Her lips parted. “You… You’re—”
“You saw it.”
The field trembled under her knees.
“You saw them.”
Above, the sky cracked like stained glass, golden lightning lacing across the bleeding clouds.
“My half-siblings,” the bunny sneered the phrase like poison.
“They were loved. Held in warm arms.”
“And me?”
Its voice wavered—but not from pain.
From rage.
“I was alone in the dark. Floating in glass. Hooked to wires. Talking to shadows to keep from vanishing.”
The golden light beneath its paws spread like fire through the grass.
“So tell me—if I destroy them in the future, will you blame me?”
The world tilted.
The bunnies froze mid-hop. Their eyes widened. The grass curled into ash.
Miexha’s mouth opened—nothing came.
