Morning sunlight spilled through the Dom mansion windows, glinting off the packed luggage by the door.
Jayson had been up since dawn, double-checking every bag—medicine, clothes, emergency kits—anything Miexha might need. He’d already gotten permission from his parents to bring her to Red City for the summer.
His father, Ashel, had even given his version of a blessing… with a threat attached.
“It’s good you’re taking her out, son,” Ashel said last night, arms crossed.
“You two need to grow closer. But you’re still teenagers, Jayson. Remember your limits. If that girl ends up pregnant, I’ll personally have you charged in juvenile court.”
Jayson had scoffed at the time, pretending not to care.
He said he wasn’t even mentally ready for “adult stuff.”
But now—standing in the doorway with his duffel bag slung over his shoulder—he couldn’t get his father’s words out of his head.
Pregnant? Seriously?
He ran a hand through his hair, trying to push the thought away before it spiraled.
“Stop it,” he muttered to himself, shaking his head.
“You’re not that kind of guy.”
Then he looked at Miexha, sitting prettily on the couch, swinging her legs and smiling at him.
He felt his throat go dry.
Great. Now he was thinking about it.
“Hey,” he said, forcing his tone casual as he grabbed her bag. “You ready to go?”
She nodded eagerly, eyes sparkling.
“Mhm! I can’t wait for our honeymoon!”
Jayson froze mid-step.
“W–what?”
She tilted her head innocently. “Our honeymoon! You said we’ll stay alone in the villa for a week, right? Isn’t that what couples do on honeymoons?”
He almost tripped over the luggage, face turning crimson. “It’s—it’s not a honeymoon, Miexha! It’s a vacation! A vacation!”
She just giggled, amused by his panic, then bounced toward the parking lot like an excited child.
Jayson exhaled, covering his face with one hand.
“I’m doomed,” he muttered.
The car rolled out of the Dom mansion gates, sunlight flickering through the trees as the long drive began.
Jayson sat stiff as a statue.
He’d insisted on sitting in front, but she pouted until he gave in. Now he couldn’t even move without her clinging tighter.
“You’ve grown taller, Dear,” she murmured, tracing invisible lines on his sleeve.
“You’re like… an oak tree now.”
Jayson tried to hide a smile.
“And you?”
She puffed her cheeks.
“Only a little! Four-ten! Still short!”
“You were four-six before,” he said, trying to keep the conversation safe.
“That’s a big difference.”
“Not enough,” she whined, sitting up to glare at her knees.
“I still look like a kid.”
He chuckled quietly.
“You are a kid.”
“I’m your fiancée,” she corrected, crossing her arms.
“I’ll grow more! Even if I’m small now, I’ll give birth to your children—healthy and beautiful!”
The driver choked on his own laughter.
Jayson froze. His ears went red.
“M-Miexha!”
“What?” she blinked innocently. “I’m serious! Even if I’m flat chested now—”
