Chapter 53- Forbidden Symphony

Zatariel's point of view

Still, my point of view, obviously.
Because who else can narrate forbidden romance other than me?

The Dom looked like it had crawled straight out of a sad girl's fairytale—stone walls wrapped in vines, windows glowing softly in the evening light.

We walked through the marble halls in silence.

Asha clutched a pack of Miexha's favorite butter sticks—the ones she only shared with people she really liked.

When we reached her door, Asha knocked gently.

Three times.

The door creaked open.

And there she was. Miexha.

Pale, wrapped in a soft cardigan, beautiful in that quiet way, the moonlight makes her look unreal. Her hair fell around her cheeks, and her eyes widened when she saw us.

Surprised.

Asha stepped forward and signed first.

We learned. All day. For you.

Miexha blinked. Her fingers twitched slightly before a shy smile appeared.

Really? she signed.

Jayson stepped forward next, smooth and composed like he'd been born for this.

We missed you, he signed.
I missed you.

Then Asha held out the butter sticks like she was presenting royal treasure.

"Your favorite."

Miexha laughed. Silent, but bright.

Her hands moved.

Thank you. I'm happy.

Great. My turn.

My palms were sweating.

Me. Zatariel 'The Great' Wov. Sweating.

I stepped forward, trying to steady my hands.

Hi, Miexha.

Okay. Good start.

I'm bad at this.

She tilted her head, smiling patiently in that gentle way that could probably end wars.

I exhaled. Then jumped straight off the emotional cliff.

I miss you. A lot.

My fingers trembled, but I kept going.

When you're not around, everything feels wrong. Like my brain keeps checking for you... like muscle memory.

Her breath caught. Just a little.

I stepped closer.

So I'm learning this.

A pause.

Not because I have to.

Another breath.

Because I want to hear you. Even without sound.

Then came the last sign.

I love you.

She didn't look away. Her hands moved slowly.

I love you too.

The world went quiet in the best possible way.
