A Golden Melody
From the dream to the truth… and back again.
The wind in the open field tasted like sunlight and memory.
The grass swayed like laughter.
And the bunnies were there—
all five of them.
The soft brown one.
The black-spotted mischief.
The sleepy shadow.
The golden one.
And the white one—
the fragile, breathless thing she once mourned—now alive. Hopping. Laughing. Free.
Miexha stood barefoot in the grass, clutching the hem of her skirt.
This world was beautiful.
Quiet. Gentle.
A world without pain.
And yet—
So false.
So impossibly kind.
So unbearably cruel.
Because she could feel it unraveling.
The illusion, once warm and whole, now brittle at the edges.
She turned before the ache in her chest could name itself.
---
There—beneath the willow tree—
stood a woman.
Silver hair flowing like moonlight.
Emerald eyes steady as time.
A presence carved from lifetimes and silence.
It was her.
The Queen of Zenips.
And in that moment, Miexha remembered.
Everything.
The melodies.
The wars.
The grief.
The love.
The galaxies born from her voice.
And the kingdoms burned by her silence.
---
She had ruled Planet Gruel.
A living world, golden and lush.
And beside her stood Zatariel—her king.
They had two hundred children.
But love among immortals always had a price.
Damian—her brightest son—rose against his father.
He killed Zatariel.
And with the king’s final breath, the planet began to rot.
The children turned on one another.
The light went out.
In her mourning, she cursed them all.
“You will hunger for love. And when you find it—it will destroy you.”
Damian, cursed with eternal life—
to carry the weight of a crown he never wanted,
to wander through worlds in search of something real.
And she?
She stayed by Zatariel’s side.
Frozen in time.
Keeping his body.
Keeping her sorrow.
Until she saw a crack in the fabric of space—
a small blue world, where her children had fled.
Earth.
And through it, she saw Damian fall in love.
With a human girl.
He begged her,
“Bring her back. Help me mother.”
So she gave him a world—
a mirror Earth, where there was no war,
where Ofreigha’s soul remained whole.
And Damian succeeded.
He found her.
He brought her back.
---
The silver-haired Queen rose, her glow thinning like mist in sunlight.
“It’s time,” she said gently.
“You must return to your reality now.”
Miexha knelt in the grass, cradling the white bunny in her arms.
Then she saw a figure beyond the willow tree.
Golden hair.
Blue eyes.
Still waiting.
Her breath caught.
