Chapter 64– Wolves Council Chamber
Damian Duke stood at the head of the Round Table.
The chamber lights dimmed slightly as his presence settled over the room like a gathering storm.
When he spoke, his voice cut through the silence like a drawn blade.
"If anyone here has aligned with Morie... or intends to betray this order..."
His eyes swept across every Guardian.
"...then you will speak only the truth."
The command settled into the room like invisible chains.
No one could resist.
Damian's authority was absolute.
Even Marie—normally the sharpest tongue in the chamber—remained silent. Her lips pressed into a thin line as she stared at the table.
Her thoughts twisted with anger.
Athena... no. Morie.
The memory of the woman's presence made her skin crawl.
Her hybrid instincts had always screamed danger whenever Morie entered the room.
And yet she had ignored it. Because she trusted the Guardians.
Hybrids never misread predators, she thought bitterly.
Across the table, Damian's gaze continued moving.
Slow.
Relentless.
Like a sword cutting through shadows.
Then it stopped on Zaren.
The Alpha immediately dropped to one knee.
His head bowed deeply.
"My loyalty is simple," Zaren said quietly.
"I want revenge."
His voice hardened.
"And the safety of my pact."
His hand pressed against his chest.
"I will bleed before I break that vow."
Next, President Ashel Dom spoke.
His voice remained calm despite the storm raging outside the facility walls.
"We are the Dom bloodline you created," he said.
"Our blood was forged to kill Zenips."
He met Damian's eyes without fear.
"We have never once raised our hands against our creator."
Beside him, Jane Dom silently knelt.
Her roses bloomed violently across the chamber floor.
Scarlet vines burst through the marble cracks, twisting around pillars and chairs.
Their silent oath roared louder than words.
Cienna Verra stepped forward next. Dark circles shadowed her eyes from sleepless nights.
"My family has served this order for generations," she said.
Her voice was steady.
"All my children answer to your command."
She lowered her head.
"Our promise still stands."
"We will never betray the order."
Then Marie moved. Without hesitation, she crossed the chamber and threw her arms around Damian.
