Chapter 135
Miexha pov
The mansion was still the same oversized, intimidating, ridiculously clean palace I once escaped from.
But this time, it felt… warmer.
Asha had gone absolutely feral with the decorating. Jamie twirled around like a sugar-charged princess, hugging her stuffed bunny.
“Auntie Asha is the best!” she squealed.
I smiled, heart soft. My daughter deserved her dream kingdom.
As for me?
I was back in Jayson’s room.
Our room.
And Jayson?
He's sweet. Dangerously sweet.
And dangerously perverted.
The man would not let a single night pass without "reclaiming his wife." I swear he was making up for every night we spent apart across six years.
Sometimes, I just lay there after his latest… marathon… totally exhausted, mentally scolding myself:
Why am I like this?
Why is his abs a sin?
Why are his butt cheeks also a sin?
I’m becoming like him. A pervert.
Every morning, I cover myself like a nun—long sleeves, turtle neck, and pants—even when it’s thirty degrees outside. Because God forbid anyone sees the scattered marks he leaves like I’m some sort of personal territory.
He’s proud of those marks. Too proud actually.
A few days later, I finally met up with Ofreigha at a high-end café.
She arrived looking like a cover model for Rich Mom Monthly, pushing her baby boy in a designer stroller.
“Miexha,” she greeted with a warm smile and hugged me.
“I’m so glad you agreed to meet.”
We ordered drinks, made polite small talk—then her tone shifted. She exhaled deeply.
“I owe you an apology. A real one.”
I tilted my head. “About…?”
“About Jayson.” She stared at her cappuccino foam like it held her sins.
“There was never anything between us. But I’d be lying if I say I didn’t want him once. When Zatariel…” she paused for a breath,
“when he passed, I was desperate for comfort. I thought maybe, if I try, I could love Jayson. But the moment I confessed... he told me directly. We can only be friends. Because he’s married.”
I blinked. That… I hadn’t known.
She smiled faintly.
“He’s loyal. Stubborn. It hit me hard, realizing I nearly became that other woman.”
I finally relaxed.
“Now?” she continued with a wide grin,
“I’m married to Damian Duke. You know, the Duke of Blue Canning Factory.”
I almost choked.
“The Blue Canning?”
She nodded proudly.
Then she glanced at her baby boy, who let out a tiny giggle.
“First time mom. I’m barely surviving. Sleep is a myth.”
I laughed. “Welcome to the mom club.”
“Oh, and my brother Thyron?” She smirked.
“Still single. Working at NASA. Want a second husband?”
I narrowed my eyes.
“One husband is already causing me backaches.”
Just then, her husband walked in like he was walking out of a manhwa cover.
Tall, black-haired, dangerously handsome with that cold villain aura.
