Chapter 89 - Literature Puzzle Race + Island Science Workshop
Wayne Academy Silver Island Field Trip - Day 2
🌴 Section 1: Operation "Make Miexha Smile."
The whistle blew. The stopwatch ticked. Chaos in the name of science commenced.
Asha cracked her knuckles like she was about to punch a final boss.
"Alright, nerds! This isn't about grades. This is about giving my cinnamon roll the island vacay she deserves."
Jayson nodded, eyes burning with purpose.
"She gets the VIP suite. Heated pool. Room service. Window view. No debates."
Even Zatariel-Wayne Academy's silent snark lord-tightened his jaw.
"If we win, she rides the glass elevator."
A confused classmate raised a hand. "Uh... aren't we supposed to be focusing on botany?"
Thyron crossed his arms. "I can personally tour Miexha-"
"SHUT UP, THYRON!" the trio yelled in unison.
And like that, they charged into the botany maze with the force of a rom-com revenge montage.
Asha yanked a suspicious plant. "Is this poison ivy?!"
Jayson sniffed it. "Toxic. Like Section 7."
Zatariel didn't even blink. "Urtica dioica. Stinging nettle. Highly irritating. Do not eat it."
Asha chucked it over her shoulder. "NEEEEEXT!"
They powered through the maze in fifteen minutes-Jayson collecting samples, Asha swatting bugs like a warrior, Zatariel scribbling field notes like a tactician in a war zone.
Tide Pool Challenge.
Jayson dove headfirst into the water. "This one's MOVING!"
Asha screamed. "THAT'S A FUCKING CRAB! OH SHIT! IT'S ON MY LEG! ZATARIIIIIIIIEL-"
Zatariel, calm as a summer breeze, flicked it off with a shell.
"Grapsus grapsus. Lives on reef rocks. Emotionally unstable. Like you, my dearest Asha."
Asha raised her middle finger at him mid-panic.
Climate Irrigation Puzzle.
Zatariel snapped pipe pieces together. Jayson dug trenches like a soldier. Asha barked orders like a caffeinated general.
"She's gonna drink from this irrigation line like a QUEEN, or I swear-"
They finished everything in 40 minutes.
Even the teachers clapped. They didn't just complete it. They turned it into an island science spectacle.
🔥 Section 2: Always Competitive
Their leader, Camila, saw Zatariel actually sweating.
"Oh? Is the king working now? Game on."
They activated full academic decathlon mode: protractors, rulers, and solar charts. They calculated the sunlight angle. They peer-reviewed crab IDs. It was a STEM ballet.
Until they saw Section 1 already finished.
"OH, COME ON!"
They scrambled. Fought over algae types. Argued about trench depths. Somehow still managed to finish in 1 hour and 3 minutes.
🎥 Section 3: Influencer Nation
"Wait, did I just see Pres Zatariel just lift a bucket?"
"OMG HE LIFTS???"
Half their team got lost mid-TikTok.
"POV: You're on a tide pool hunt, and your hot SC Pres pass by.'"
