{Nathan's POV}
Since Ellie and Max lived in an apartment building rather close to Inkopolis Plaza, they got off the train before me and Isabelle. Isabelle was still being really quiet. "Was it something I said?" I actually didn't realize I said that out loud and she looked at me weirdly. "What are you talking about?" I replied with, "Uh-I-Well, you've been really quiet all day today... Was it something I said, or did something happen?" Isabelle replied with, "Nope. Nothing. I'm just a little tired." I breathed a sigh of relief. Glad to know she's not mad at me or anything. "Well, this is my stop. See ya later, Isabelle." Isabelle waved at me. "See you..." As I was walking home, I kept thinking about Isabelle. She's usually so perky, it's weird to see her this down. I have to cheer her up somehow. And I knew just what I would do.

{Isabelle's POV}
Have you ever been with someone for a while, and then all of a sudden they're gone and you feel kinda lonely? That's how I feel. Except I've been like this all my life. My mom isn't home most nights, so I'm left home alone. My dad is always on business trips, so I rarely see him. And I don't have any siblings, so the last half of my day is spent alone in my house. "We have now arrived at Station 420." Well, this is my stop. I got up and walked off the train and headed home.
"I'm home..." I said as I opened the front door. As usual, no response. Although there was a note on the kitchen counter. Dear Isabelle, I had to leave earlier than usual since my meeting is so far away. Sorry, sweetie, but you'll have to make dinner tonight. Love, Mom. Great. Most of the time, Mom makes dinner for me before she leaves. So when I come home most days there's something like a big ol' casserole or something sitting on the countertop. I sighed. "All right... Better get started, it's almost nine..." Before I could even open the fridge, I heard a knocking sound on the front door. I opened it to see Nathan, smiling at me with a paper bag. "Surprise! It's me!" I asked him, "Why are you out here this late?" Nathan stuttered, "Uhm.. I-I... Uh... Got something for... You..." I opened the bag, which had some takeout in it. "Thanks, Nathan. How did you know I was craving this?" His awkward smile twisted into a creepy grin. "Because I can READ YOUR MIND!" He yelled. "Come on in," I said.
