{Nathan's POV}
I carefully unlocked the front door and walked inside. No one was home. Guess my parents are still at work... I made my way upstairs to my bedroom and flopped onto my bed.
I let out a collective sigh. Today was pretty tiring. The intense ranked battles, rainstorms, friends freaking out over frogs...
I turned over and looked out of my window. The large tree outside of my house was beginning to turn bright red. Autumn is both my favorite and least favorite season. Pros- It finally stops being so dang hot, and jumping around in all those leaves is fun.
Cons- School starts back up again, and you have to rake up the leaves in advance. Lame.{Felix's POV}
"I'm home..." I weakly exclaimed as I threw my front door open. Brenda was inside, preparing dinner. "Welcome home, Felix. Caleb isn't home yet." Caleb always comes home late, usually because he participates in WAY too many ink battles.
"So, how was your day?" Brenda asked sweetly. I replied, "I dunno. It was okay." The thing that happened at the restaurant with that... Person... Was pretty weird. I didn't tell Brenda about that.
"I'm home. Hi, Brenda. Hey, Felix." Caleb groaned. "Just in time. Dinner's ready." Brenda said. Caleb sat down and said, "I still can't believe all of my teammates are still single." I rolled my eyes. "Not everyone can be in a relationship, you know..."
"What about, you, Felix? Don't you have that little girlfriend of yours?" My brother said jokingly. My face turned bright red, and my cheeks began to burn. "She's not my girlfriend. She's my friend who just so happens to be a girl."
"Yeah, right. She's too dense for you anyways." Caleb said. "She is not!" I angrily responded. Caleb smirked. "You know what? I don't think she's dense. I think that she hates you, and that's why she doesn't return your feelings." I gritted my teeth and replied, "SHUT UP!"
There was a deafening silence in the room. "You know what? Maybe she does hate me. As a matter of fact, I'll go ask her if she does!" I shouted. Caleb replied, "You go do that. See you later!" I stood up and stormed out of the house. What does my brother even know about relationships, anyway?
{Jacki's POV}
I locked up the restaurant doors and untied my apron. The restaurant was pretty busy today, so I had to work extra. May waddled into the room, carrying a mop. "Do you want me to help you clean?" She asked.
I smiled and patted her head. "That's okay. I've already finished. Do you want me to read you a book or something?" May dropped the mop and excitedly replied, "Yes! Yes! Can you read the story about the princess who... uh... who had to go to the ball but couldn't, but then she could?"
"All right. Let's go." As I walked up to my room, I saw some bits of dried magenta ink laying on the ground from earlier. I swept them aside, and headed upstairs. I remembered Mark's secret, and reassured myself knowing that his secret was safe with me.
{Kasai's POV}
The first thing I saw when I walked into my house was my mother's worried expression. "Kasai... I want you to hide in your room tonight, and lock all the doors and windows. He'll be home at around 7:30." My face fell and I nodded. The thing I had feared the most was about to happen. I ran into my room and locked all the doors and windows. I glanced over at my clock. 7:28.
I heard the front door slam open, and the sound of yelling. It was happening. I curled up into a ball in the corner, and began to cry.
{Ellie's POV}
I stared out of the train window as it rumbled along the sturdy iron tracks. Today was a long day, and I was exhausted. Max was sitting next to me, playing around on his Squidphone. The sun was barely visible over the horizon, and I could feel my eyelids getting heavy."Hey, Ellie. You were pretty good out there today," Max said cheerfully. "I mean, you're always pretty good, but today you completely blew the competition out of the water." I sleepily replied, "Thanks." I was too tired to say anything else.
I guess Max was too, because neither of us said anything during the ride back.
{Max's POV}
"Hey, kids. Wake up. This is the last stop. Kids!"
My eyes slowly opened up to reveal an angry old man, screaming his lungs out. I must have fallen asleep. Ellie was next to me, her head laying on my shoulder. "Wake up, Ellie. This is the last stop. We missed our stop. We have to walk back home."
Ellie's blue eyes slowly opened, and she shakily stood up. "Alright... Let's go..."
Me and Ellie walked along the sidewalk back to our apartment building. The sun was completely gone, and the dim light of the moon illuminated the road.
"Max, I have a question." Ellie asked. I replied, "What is it?"
"What's your favorite type of Ranked Battle?" I answered, "Splat Zones, probably... It's really fun protecting the zone with my teammates." Ellie smiled and responded, "My favorite is Tower Control. Remember today, when you were on the tower and everyone on the other team had been splatted, so you just grabbed a magazine out of nowhere and started reading it. That was funny." I grinned. "What else would I have done?"
A frigid wind blew past us. Ellie began to shiver. "It's getting really cold. I wish summer wasn't over." I replied, "I feel exactly the same way. Fall is too chilly, and school is lame. That reminds me- once school starts back up, don't give me the cold shoulder and completely ignore me."
"You'll never change, will you?" Ellie said. I smiled and replied, "I thought that was a good thing." Ellie playfully pushed me and said, "It is, you weirdo!" We chatted like this for about half an hour until we reached our apartments.
"See you tomorrow, Max." Ellie softly said.
"Good night. See you tomorrow."
I really like Ellie. I hope she likes me too.

Hello guys! I hope you enjoyed the chapter. I had fun writing it!
Okay. I have a really important question for you guys.
Would you like it if I wrote a side story revolving around Max and Ellie? I love those two and want to write even more about them! If you think that sounds good, tell me in the comments!
See you in the next chapter!-Toaster
