{Isabelle's POV}

I stared at the sidewalk as I trotted back home. Even though the team won a couple, we lost a bunch of ink battles today, so I was pretty stressed out. I just wanted to go home and go to bed. I sighed and kept walking, my house sitting on the horizon.

As I was making my way to my house, a familiar Inkling boy ran right past me. I could barely make it out in the dark light, but I easily remembered him. It was Felix, Kasai's best friend. He was running so fast, he could have almost easily broken the sound barrier.

"Hi, Felix-"

He rushed right past me without saying a single word. Tears were falling from his eyes.

"Hey, Mom... Hey Dad.... I'm home..." I said quietly as I stepped inside. My Mom and Dad, as usual, were just chilling out. "Welcome home, Isabelle." My Dad responded.

"...I'm really tired... I'm going to bed..." I muttered. I was too exhausted to comprehend anything. Sleep was all I needed.

{????'s POV}

I looked at the small slip of paper my leader gave me. This was certainly the correct address. I hesitantly knocked on the door.

A grown man with orange tentacles opened the door and stared down at me. "Uh... Good evening. Can I help you?"

"Uh... Y-yes... Do you have a daughter? I need to talk to her, sir." I stuttered. The man looked at me strangely, and muttered something to his wife.

"She's upstairs. Please, come on in..." The man said. I quietly stepped inside. The man and his wife kept staring at me, as if I was here to do something bad. I tried my best to hide my fully loaded silver ink gun.

"Eh... Excuse me. I need to talk to you." I said, trying to sound as normal as possible. The bedroom door opened, and my target was standing right in front of me.

"Hi. May I help you?" Said a certain female Inkling that has tormented me countless times. I smirked and pulled out my gun. "Hey, wait... What are you-"

I pulled the trigger and she fell to the ground with a thud. "Thanks for the chat. See you never, you orange pest~"

I must have been an idiot. The stupid girl wasn't dead. I could hardly hear her raspy, short breaths as I was escaping through the window, but she was still breathing nonetheless. How stupid of me...

--------------------------------------
My apologies for the rather short chapter. I've been extremely busy with school, my school's fall play, homework, etc. But that's not the only reason this chapter is so short.

It's because a certain upcoming chapter is going to be REALLY long.
Prepare yourself.
