{Nathan's POV}
I think my parents will surely kill me for being out here this late. I'm in the skate park at about 9:30 pm, with only one other person. Or so I thought.
"So where is the person who wrote the note?" I asked. Isabelle pointed toward the center of the skate park. "We could see better if we were up there." So, we climbed up to the top and observed every last bit of the skate park. "There's no one here..." Isabelle muttered. Out of nowhere, a female voice whispered, "...Or so you think." Before I knew it, the voice shoved Isabelle over the edge, and my fingers were tightly wrapped around Isabelle's wrist. "Are you ok?!" I asked her as I hoisted her back up. "I'm fine..." She replied. "Just a little rattled." We turned around and saw a vaguely familiar girl wearing a black hoodie. Except instead of a Forge Splattershot Pro, she had a weapon I had never seen before. Before I could get a better look at it, she shot me off the platform as I collided with the hard ground below. "Oooomph!" I spurted out as I hit the ground. Isabelle looked back and yelled, "Nathan! Are you ok?!" I weakly gave her a thumbs-up as I sat back up. "I'm good." The girl who shot me grabbed Isabelle and jumped down next to me. "Tell me, Girlie. Did you see me earlier at Moray Towers?" Isabelle nodded furiously with a horrified expression on her face. The girl groaned and pulled back her hood. Behind her black hood were red tentacles that didn't resemble an average Inkling's in any way. She stated, "You interfered with my plan. The octarians will conquer Inkopolis! Now, if you'll be a good girl and stay out of my way, I would most appreciate that. Little brat!" She then threw Isabelle at the ground next to me. "You're... An octarian? That species was exiled underground hundreds of years ago!" I yelled. The girl replied with, "Exactly. We want revenge. And I, octoling unit 420, will assist my comrades!" Before she could jump away, I shot her with my .52 Gal. She looked back at me, her face stained with blue ink. "You're such a pest! Stop getting in my way!" I tried to shoot her again to do her in, but my ammo was depleted and I was too weak to refill it. Isabelle stood up and threw a Burst Bomb over the octoling's head. "You missed, you worthless little- she was cut off because of a Burst Bomb exploding in her face. She wiped the ink off of her face and said, "You've wasted my time. I could have disposed of you, but that'll have to wait. Toodles~!" Before she super jumped far away somewhere, she dropped something that looked like a small monitor. I crawled over and picked it up. There was something written on the back in scrawly handwriting. It said- Orlaith. Was that the octoling's name? I was too tired to comprehend. Isabelle helped me up on my feet. "You ok, Isabelle?" I asked her. Isabelle nodded. "What about you, Nathan? Are you alright?" I smiled at her. "I'm fine. At least I hope. But that's not important." Isabelle looked at me weirdly. "This is," I said while holding up the monitor. "The octoling girl dropped it. Apparently her name's Orlaith." Isabelle replied, "We can worry more about this tomorrow. Turf Wars are closed tomorrow." I looked back at Isabelle's smiling face. "Okay," I said as we walked back.{Orlaith's POV}
I landed right next to the beacon I had placed near the entrance to Octo Valley, still overflowing with rage. That girl was interfering with my plans 24/7! Usually, I don't get this mad. Even though my species is pretty aggressive, I'm actually rather timid. I sighed as I reached into my pocket to grab my monitor. But all I got was air. "What?! Don't tell me I lost the monitor too..." I smacked my forehead and thought back to what Nami said. "You're a failure as an octoling. Nobody wants you here. Go away!" Just thinking of those words made me frown. "I am a failure as an octoling. I was beaten by two pathetic kids, I lost my monitor, and who knows what else. As I walked back to the entrance to Octo Valley, I shed a couple of tears.
Because everything Nami said was right.
