{?????'s POV}
I stared blankly out the window, waiting for someone to at least walk by. I impatiently tugged my apron. The regular isn't usually this late. I sighed. "Guess I should close up shop early..." Before I could do anything, though, someone burst through the front door. "PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE STILL OPEN!" My pouty lips curved into a smile. "Of course. Have a seat." The girl tightly gripped her Jet Squelcher. "Oh- uh, is it ok if my weapon is here?" She asked. "It's ok as long as you don't use it. What can I get you?" I replied. She didn't stop to think for a second before responding, "The usual, of course!" I gave her a thumbs up and grabbed a box from the back counter. This girl is here every day, and always orders the same thing. We actually go to the same school, but she's one year below me. I hand her the box, and she excitedly opens it and pulls out a rice ball. "Thankth!" She says through a mouthful of rice. "Hey, didja hear 'bout Inkopolith Prep being clothed due to polithe invethtigationth?" I could hardly make out what she was saying with her mouth full of food. I answered, "I did hear about it. I can finally have some free time outside of the restaurant." My Grandpa and my little sister run this small Japanese restaurant. Even right when I get home from school, every minute of free time is spent in the restaurant, and the rest is spent on homework. The girl swallowed and grabbed another rice ball. "Yeah, but do you know WHY it was closed?" I replied, "No. I only heard about it being closed from my Grandpa, and even then he didn't mention why." The girl shouted, "Someone died on school grounds! And according to the autopsy reports, there's a good chance that it was a murder! I dropped my wooden spoon in shock. "Someone was killed?" The girl closed the box and replied, "Yeah! Crazy, isn't it?" She slid me the money. "Thanks! See you tomorrow!"

"Who was that girl earlier, Jacki?" My little sister May asked as we were cleaning up the restaurant. I answered, "That was a regular customer of ours." A confused look crept across her face. "What's a regular customer?" I should have known that she wouldn't understand. She's only 9 years old. "It means that she comes here and buys from us very often." May smiled. "She's nice!" I replied under my breath, "She is."

{Felix's POV}
"Hey, Caleb! I'm home!" I said as I burst through the front door. Caleb was chilling on the couch, talking to his fiancé Brenda. "Welcome home, bro." My brother said, sounding kind of bored. Brenda shot me a smile and said, "Welcome home, Felix." I smiled back and headed to my room. My brother is 24, and he's getting married to Brenda in a year. If I ever have romance problems, I go to Caleb. Since, you know, he's pretty much got a wife already. Still, Caleb will never help me get over how dense my crush is...

"FEEEEELIIIIIIIIX! DINNER'S READY!" Caleb shouted from downstairs. After 15 seconds of recovery from my eardrums being torn in half, I trotted downstairs. "So, how was school today?" Brenda asked me. I hesitantly responded, "Uh... I-it was ok... I guess..." Caleb angrily replied, "You're lying." He handed me a newspaper. "Someone was found dead at your school. How could that have been a good day?" Under my breath, I responded "Trust me. You would have been happy if you knew who died..." None of us said anything after that.

{Kasai's POV}
I tried to open the front door as quietly as possible. The lights were off, and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Perfect! I thought to myself as I slid the box of food I had in my other hand into the fridge. I quietly stepped over to my room and locked the door behind me. I propped my Jet Squelcher up against the wall and flopped onto my bed and pulled out my SquidPhone. I put on my headphones, and played my favorite song on near max volume. I decided to sing along.

Follow me, follow me
One long night ago
Take me there, once again
We'll never be alone

Among the trees, above a hill
Winding path, Endless road
Stay by my side,
Never alone

My little jam session was interrupted when I heard the front door open. I hid under the covers, fearing that it was... Him. My mom poked her head into my room and consoled me with, "Kasai, darling? It's only me. You can stop hiding." I came out of hiding and heaved a huge sigh of relief. "Please don't scare me like that, mom. I thought he was about to... Y'know..." My mom patted my head. "It's alright, honey. He won't be home until late tonight. And I heard about what happened at school today. You must have been so scared." I didn't want to tell her who it was that was killed... So I just went to bed, knowing that I would sleep well tonight, knowing that I would be safe from... Him.

{Isabelle's POV}
As soon as I walked in, my dad shoved a newspaper into my face. "ISABELLE!!! DID YOU HEAR WHAT HAPPENED?!" He yelled. I shouted back, "I KNOW! IT'S CRAZY, ISN'T IT?!"
"SOMEONE DIED, IZZY!"
"I KNOW!"
"AAAAAAAAGH!"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!"
My mom slammed the oven door shut and angrily said, "Quiet down, you two. Honestly, sometimes I can't tell which one of you is the child here..." My dad sheepishly replied, "Sorry, Jules. But hey, at least it wasn't at Isabelle's high school, right?" True, true. "Well, I'm going to bed. Goodnight, my beautiful family!" I remarked.

{Nathan's POV}
"Hey, everybody!" I cheered as I opened the front door. My dad replied, "Good evening, Nathan. How was your day?" I answered, "Meh, it was ok. Some school got closed down due to someone dying on school grounds. I think it was... Inkopolis Prep. Yeah, it was that." My dad responded, "Really? That's crazy talk." I rolled my eyes. My mom said, "I know, Nathan. I saw it on the news. It's quite sad, really." That's right. It's horrible. "I'm exhausted. G'night." I sleepily said. My mom sweetly replied, "Bonne nuit, mon bébé." I really wish she would stop saying that. It means "Good night, my baby." I mean, it's sweet and all, but I ain't no baby no more!
I'M A MAN!

{Orlaith's POV}
I laid back onto the mattress beneath me and stared at the stars. The rooftop of Max and Ellie's apartment building has a beautiful view of the stars, especially on a clear night like this. During my stargazing session, I thought about today. Ranked battles, sudden deaths, schools closing, and new friends. I sure hope that we find Nami as soon as possible.

And I'm sure that Natalie will really help us out.
