{Nathan's POV}
Isabelle helped me out of the ink and gave me a great big hug. "I'm so glad you're ok, Nathan. You had me worried." Her tentacles faded back to the usual orange. I replied, "I feel the same way... Ggglhgh!" I choked up more blue ink. Isabelle wiped it away. "That kick to the stomach really did a number on you, huh?" Isabelle said jokingly. I awkwardly replied, "Yeah. Give me a day and I'll be as good as new." Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Ellie, Max, and Orlaith running towards us. "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GUYS SURVIVED THAT! ARE YOU ALL OKAY?!" Ellie shouted. "Calm down, Ellie. You'll make my ears blow up." I said. Max slapped me on the back (causing me to choke up a bit more ink) and said, "Nice job you two!" Orlaith cheered, "You guys are incredible! Come on, Cap'n Cuttlefish is waiting for you!""Well, I'll be darned! You two actually did it!" The Cap'n chortled. "Now I can work on... The thing. This will help y'all, right?" We all nodded. "I'll need a day or so to work on it. Come back tomorrow, Okay?" I wonder what it is he's working on.
{Isabelle's POV}
We all decided to just hang out around Inkopolis Plaza for a while before sundown. "Maybe we can stop by the café on the way home!" Ellie suggested. "AWWW YEAH! Let's go then! CAKE AWAITS US!" Everyone ran towards the café. "Hey, guys! Wait up!" I yelled as I ran after them. In my haste, I accidentally ran into another Inkling. "Ack! You ok?" I asked. The Inkling stood up. She had lavender-colored tentacles, with four long tentacles in the back tied up in a low ponytail. She had a pair of Pilot Goggles on her head, and was wearing a school-uniform polo and skirt,but wore a white jersey over it. "Yeah. I'm fine!" She replied, rather cheerful. "By the way, which way is Shrimp Kicks? I need some new shoes." I pointed to Shrimp Kicks and answered, "It's just over there. And why are you wearing a school uniform in summer?" She replied, "My school year just started. And by the way, don't tell anyone, but I'm cutting class." In the distance, someone yelled, "Get back here!" The girl looked at me and whispered, "If they if you saw a girl with lavender tentacles..." She turned her tentacles a shade of deep sky blue, like Nathan's but a little lighter. "...You definitely didn't see me." She ran towards Shrimp Kicks. I caught up with everyone else at the café. "What took you so long?" Nathan asked. I replied, "Nothing. Just tripped and fell on mah face."{Nathan's POV}
"I'm home!" I said as I threw open the front door. My mom replied, "Welcome back, sweetie. Nathan, where were you last night?" Crud! I forgot! I had that one mission in Bluefin Depot, and I was out for a whole day! "Eh... I- I had to stay at Max's place. The train was out." My mom raised an eyebrow. "Okay, sweetie. If you say so." I laughed sheepishly as I scooted upstairs. I shut the door behind me. "That was too close... Ggglhgh!" I choked up even more blue ink. "Guh... This is really annoying..." I said to myself as I wiped the blue ink off of the floor. "I better get to bed..." I looked at myself in the mirror. The bruise on my face from a few days ago from when my dad hit me was almost gone. That was good, I guess.{Isabelle's POV}
"I'm... Home?" I quietly said as I stepped inside. My dad was on the couch watching television. "Good evening, Isabelle. Where were you last night?" Oh... That's right. I was gone for a whole day. My family was probably so worried... "Um... The train broke down, so I had to stay at Ellie's." My dad replied, "Alright. Just making sure." I went upstairs without saying anything else. I was too exhausted to speak. I had to get up bright and early tomorrow so I could get to Octo Valley. I flopped onto my bed and picked up my phone. I had a text from Nathan.
Nathan: Any guesses as to what the Cap'n is working on?
Isabelle: Nope. See you tomorrow.
Nathan: You're no fun. :(
I went straight to bed. I've had enough excitement for one day.
