{Isabelle's POV}
"Where are you going to stay tonight, Orlaith?" I asked. Orlaith fidgeted around for a bit  and replied, "Dunno. Guess I'm gonna be homeless for a while." Ellie said, "My apartment building has a rooftop that no one goes to. You could at least stay up there." Max said, "She speaks the truth. The only one going up there would be you." Orlaith nodded. "At least I'll have someplace to stay. Thanks again, guys."

One train ride later, I'm back at my house. "Hey, I'm home!" I yelled. My mom replied with, "Inside voices, Isabelle." My dad nodded. "Hey, Isabelle. I have good news." I curiously asked, "What is it, dad?" My dad answered, "My next business trip is at least six months away. The one I was supposed to leave for next week was cancelled." I couldn't believe my flipping ears! SIX WHOLE MONTHS WITH MY DAD THAT I HARDLY USED TO SEE! "Really!?" I cheerfully replied. "That's incredible!" I  couldn't wait to spend more time with my dad. I always thought people like Nathan, Ellie and Max were lucky for having their family around all the time. That actually changed when I met Nathan's dad. Mr. Kalmar was really strict and wanted to keep his son safe at all costs, and actually wouldn't allow me to be around Nathan for a while after we first met. I felt sorry for Nathan, but I'm sure Mr. Kalmar is nice on the inside.

{Nathan's POV}
"I'm home..." I said as I opened the front door. My parents were watching a movie together. "Welcome home, Sweetie. Your dinner is in the microwave," Mom said. I forgot that it was movie night. I wasn't feeling like watching movies, so I just took my food and walked up to my room. I removed the bandage from my cheek and looked in the mirror. The big bruise was still there. I just sat down on my bed and ate. My dad hasn't talked to me since last night. As I was eating, I thought about what Orlaith said to me last night. Did her parents really abandon her for helping someone? Why would they abandon their own daughter? How and why did Orlaith's friend die? Poor girl. I wonder if she'll tell the others...
"EEEEEEEK!" "AAAAAAAAUGH!" "HEEEEEEEELP!" "NOOOOOOOOO!"
Those voices! I thought as I heard the voices' tortured screaming.
Those were my parent's voices.
