It Remembers

It remembered that man. He landed before it deep in the water. A device in his hands. Then excruciating pain as water bubbled around it. It remembered the kingdom it saw afterwards. Those humans so inferior without their wizard. Then it saw nothing but a cave wall for over a century. Now it heard its kin roar. Its eyes opened and the young kin's eyes glowed red with fear. At its feet was an annoyance of carapace.

Kazuma gripped the controls in terror after the execution of Ebirah, praying to whatever being that would listen, that Mechagodzilla wouldn't attack Junior. Mechagodzilla tilted its head at Junior, then growled at him. Junior halted his retreat. Mechagodzilla roared and Junior shrunk a bit. Mechagodzilla then glanced around. Its eyes locking onto the buildings. It let out a snarl.

"Oh god it's charging again!" Akane announced.

"Yoshito! Shut it down!" Kazuma ordered.

"I'm trying! It won't respond!"

A beam of yellow light shot through several buildings as Mechagodzilla roared. It then started a march into the city.

"It's activating cannon and rocket systems!" Ozawa reported.

Kazuma could only watch in horror.

Everyone had stopped running when the lobster was destroyed. Slowly the crowds turned to their metal savior. A beast was standing across from it, red glowing eyes as it backed up. Hope's mind immediately surfaced a name.

"Godzilla." She whispered. It sounded so familiar, so... distant.

The man carrying her looked up at her. "Godzilla Junior actually. That one's Godzilla's friendly little kiddo. That machine that saved us has to be the new Mechagodzilla."

"Mechagodzilla?"

"That's right. It's a machine created to fight evil Kaiju."

Hope found the man's definition a bit black and white, but didn't argue. What did she know about this place? She wasn't even sure what this place is. Suddenly the machine roared at Junior and Hope frowned. She closed her eyes, focusing on her powers to see if she couldn't read something. Suddenly a flash of a man wearing an eyepatch flared in her head. In a diver suit, a device... sheer rage transcending time and space. She was torn violently from its mind and she shivered.

"Run..."

"What? But we're saved."

"RUN!" Hope shouted. As she did, Mechagodzilla seemed to notice the buildings behind it and shot a beam of yellow lightning-like energy slicing several buildings. Its eyes were a bright red, and it roared. The man carrying Hope didn't think twice after that and started sprinting through the crowd. Hope watched as its shoulder cannons fired across the city. Junior gave out a roar as his dorsal plates glowed a bright blue, then let out a beam of blue energy. The blue ray shot against Mechagodzilla's back and it roared in rage. It whirled on Junior, firing missiles at him. In the sky two jets flew overhead. One bulky, the other narrow. The bulky one shot a missile at Mechagodzilla's feet. Ice crystallized around its feet locking it in place. Mechagodzilla roared at the plane while Junior charged.

Kazuma desperately slapped around at different buttons. "Yoshito! Get comms up!"
