chapter 7~crush

I woke up around 6am the next morning because yay school (note the sarcasm). I honestly don't know why we stayed up so late last night considering we had school today but whatevs.

I grabbed my phone to see that I had a couple text messages: 1 from Mali, 2 from dad, and 6 from unknown numbers.

I opened dads first. It just said he left early this morning for work and he'd be back around 8, and that I needed to find a ride to school cuz he took my car since his is broken.

Mali's was asking how my night went, I told her I would tell her after school and to ask Calum if he could give me a ride to school. She responded with an "okay and he said yeah".

With that I didn't bother reading the other text messages, I just started getting ready. I opted on a grey Green Day flowy tank top, black ripped shorts, and a red and black flannel over it, with my all black high top converse. I left my hair straight, did my normal makeup and ran down the stairs to get a lunch and breakfast before Calum got here.

At 7:10 on the dot there was a knock on the door. I opened it to see the face I fell asleep to last night.

"Hey thanks for taking me to school I really appreciate it." I said walking towards his car.

"No problem. It's not like you live that far from me" he chuckled.

Once again the car ride was pretty silent but it wasn't an awkward silence, it was more of a comforting silence.

As soon as we got to school I saw michaels pink hair. Seriously though how could you miss it? Then I saw Luke's blonde hair above everyone else's heads.

I ran up to michael and jumped on his back to scare him. And let me tell you he was scared. Scared to the point of squealing like an 8 year old girl.

I jumped off and couldn't help but laugh along with the other boys.

"That was not funny I thought I was being attacked. That was probably the scariest moment of my entire life" he said, a blush evident on his cheeks.

"I'm sorry michael I did not mean to scare you shitless" I said trying not to laugh.

Luke gasped.

"What Luke?"

"You just said 'Shit' in a word! I've never heard you cuss before! It was kind of funny the way you said it though" He said with a cheeky smile.

"Well technically I said 'shitLESS'" I laughed.

Before anyone had a chance to respond the bell rang.

The day went by fairly quickly and I just became closer with the boys as the days went on. Especially Mikey and Ash. Luke doesn't really talk much so I was focused on trying to get him to talk to me.

We were on our way to lunch after 4th period, Which I had with Ash and Mikey. We were talking away when I looked to see Calum talking to some fake bitch leaning against the lockers.

"Meg? Megan? Hello?" Ashton was waving his hand in front of my face.

"Uh yeah sorry I was distracted. What were you saying?" I said trying not to look at them.

"Well what we were talking about doesn't matter anymore. What's on your mind?" Mikey asked.

"Uh nothing I'm fine just continue" I said avoiding eye contact.

"Megan there's obviously something wrong and were not gonna stop asking you about it until you tell us so you might as well just make it easier on yourself and Just tell us." Mikey said.

"Okay fine. So I don't know for sure but I might have a crush on this guy and I just saw him talking to another girl and I just got a little upset but it's nothing im fine." I said looking at my fingers. By now we were already in the lunch court at our table.

"So you're jealous" Ashton smirked.

"Yes I guess you could say I was jealous" I rolled my eyes.

"Who's jealous of what?" I heard Calum say. He was joined by Luke.

"Megan is jealous that the guy she likes was talking to another girl" Mikey blurted.

I gave him the death glare.

"Who is said guy?" Luke asked. So he does speak.

"Oh it's no one it's not that big of a deal" I was beginning to get really uncomfortable.

"So you're not gonna tell us?" Ashton asked.

I just shook my head no.

"Are we aloud to guess?" Mikey asked.

"I guess but I'm not gonna tell you if you get it right." this should be good.

"is it someone in our grade?"

"yes"

"is he in this room"

I pretended to look around. "yup"

"okay is it someone near us?"

"What do you consider near?"

"umm like are they within three tables of us?"

"yeah"

"ok is it that kid from biology"

"nope"

"What about the football player? umm what's his name? Oh Jack"

"nope"

"Is it someone at this table?"

I felt a blush. Damnit! "nope"

"IT IS YOURE BLUSHING!!" Ashton yelled.

"Keep your voice down child people are staring"

"Did you just call me child?"

"Yup" I said with a cheeky smile.

"For your information I am the oldest one here" he said sassily snapping his fingers.

Before I could say anything the bell rang. Thank goodness but now they know it's one of them and Ash and Mikey know its not them. This should be interesting to say the least.

I walked with Calum since I had this period with him.

"So are you going to tell me who you have a crush on?" He asked softly.

"Umm yeah no. You'll laugh. I mean I'm even laughing at myself cuz I've only been here for less than a week and I'm already crushing on one of my only four friends that I have and I don't want to ruin it because I feel like if I make it awkward then I'll lose the friendship and I just ugh"

Calum didn't say anything he just smiled before stopping me and hugging me. It was probably one of the greatest hugs I've ever had. Plus Calum smelled good so that's a plus.

After he pulled away he wrapped his arm around my shoulder and we walked to class.

I guess it's pretty obvious now. I am crushing on Calum. One of my only friends and I don't even think he knows. I mean hopefully he doesn't. Hopefully he's just oblivious to the whole thing. Who knows maybe this could turn out well for me. Or a complete disaster resulting in moving back to California. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
