Two months had passed and it was actually quiet. No one would ever say it out loud though, it was too risky to even think about it honestly.

After the wall fell in Alexandria and they cleared the town of the dead, the walls were rebuilt. The town was still mourning their losses quietly as Adrianna and Rick began leading them to be better. Everyone was armed now, even the young and old. They told everyone even something as simple as a knife would be better than nothing. The community was reluctant to give in so easy to Rick and Adrianna's leadership but after Diana they had no choice.

The community had to be strong.

Today was the day. At least that's what Rick kept telling Adrianna when he mentioned this run. He wanted Daryl and her to go with him to go look for food. The town was running dangerously low and without food, keeping the people in the community feeling safe and confident was going to be almost impossible. They hadn't known what it was like to actually be hungry but they were gonna find out soon enough if nothing was found.

Usually Adrianna and Daryl would go search by themselves, they just worked better together and it made the runs easy. Now, they would need the extra hand to search places farther away from Alexandria. Rick was first to volunteer, he hadn't gone out of the walls much since Carl was shot. He survived thankfully. Rick and Michonne have been there every step in the way but it was time for him to get out some.

"Hey." Daryl's voice made Adrianna look up from the car she was packing up. Her eyes followed his to see Denise walking over. "This thing at the bottom here, you're talking about the drink?" He asked pointing to the list.

She nodded. "I am."

"I told you so." Adrianna said poking Daryl in his side.

He swatted her hand away and rolled his eyes before turning back to Denise. "It's not medical." He pointed out.

"No, I drew a like between the important stuff and that. I just figured if you guys saw it." She trailed off and the couple nodded their heads. "Anything remotely medical is priority." She added. "And food, maybe even food before medicine, and gas or batteries or books for the kids is just- if you see it and if you know it happens to be there and you have the room." She continued rambling on.

"Well, you like it right?" Daryl asked.

She shook her head with a smile. "No, I don't drink pop." The couples gaze turned to confusion and they both had the same question. "What the hells pop?" The question came out in unison. Denise laughed slightly at their reaction. "Oh, I'm originally from Ohio." The couple shared a glance before Adrianna turned back to the car.

"So, why do you want it?"

"Tara was talking about it in her sleep I think. Either she likes it or she doesn't, but if she likes it then it'll be a really nice surprise." Denise explained. "I'm not good with that kind of stuff and she and Heath are going on that two week run. I just thought it'd be a nice going away present." The couple sent a smirk her way, the crush she had on Tara was very evident to everyone in the town. "Just don't go out of your guys way."

"We won't." Daryl said as Adrianna closed the trunk of the car and swung her crossbow over her shoulder. "Okay good cause it's not important." Denise said as the couple began walking away to go find Rick. "I should've just said so instead of drawing a line." Her voice continued talking behind them. Adrianna waved a hand back at her and kept walking. "We got it." She called out.

"I mapped out some of the agricultural supply places in the area." Eugene says leaning into the passenger side window. He handed Daryl a map and pointed to the different colored circles. "Even if they've been cleaned out, my bet is the sorghum would be untouched. Now that there is a criminally underrated grain that could change the game with our food situation from scary to hunky dunky. I'm talking standability, drought tolerance, grain to stover ratio that is the envy of all corns." The trio in the car looked to the man as if he was speaking another language. They didn't see the need of going somewhere if it's cleared out. "Just think about it."
